Here's a trailer for the festival & posted below is the Broken Social Scene song they used (Meet Me in the Basement).

blood orange and kindness are two of my favorite acts in indie music.. both versions of that song sound great.

i really hope blood orange drops a new album this year, he's due for it.

The first link from Stereogum mentions a really good read from Vulture (New York Magazine) about the state of economics for Indie Bands (third link). The second link is also from Stereogum. It's a really long read but very informative about how Indie bands can at least break even.

What rebuttal, what is Mac Miller doing that they're not doing?

Mac Miller's song were getting no air play, video play etc but some how he was able to makes millions.

Damn that sounds fun. Speaking of Ra Ra Riot, been listening to The Orchard quite a bit lately.

Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix was my favorite release of '09. They have a new album coming out in April...Can't wait...

http://pitchfork.com/news/49188-phoenix-post-mysterious-teaser/

UPDATE! It's been confirmed that Bankrupt! is the title of the new Phoenix album!

Phoenix just posted the above image to their Facebook page, along with the text, "photosensitive epilepsy warning." The warning is necessary, because they also linked to their website, which features a video of the words "PHOENIX BANKRUPT!" flashing at a seizure-inducing capacity, accompanied by what sounds like snippets of a new track.

Is this a mysterious promo for that new Phoenix album we've been promised for April? With the recent announcement of Phoenix's return to the stage, it looks likely.

The Naked And Famous - Young Blood

Just heard this streaming 107.7 The End (Seattle). This band is from New Zealand. Song's been out since 2010...I like it...

Like someone said on an earlier page, Empire of the Sun had a couple of really good songs on their last album. Interested in what they put out next. MGMT is working on something new too. Also heard the new Strokes song while streaming 107.7 The End...It was really good. Couldn't find it to post though...Looks like 2013 is shaping up to be ok after all with regards to new releases...

great album by John Pena of the band Beach Fossils..

Heavenly Beat-Talent

very chill and relaxing music, which is what i'm really into these days.

Kendra Morris - Shine on You Crazy Diamond

This girl does more Brit R&B but I love this trip hop version of the Pink Floyd classic. She's on some indie Brit label...

Foals - My Number, Inhaler, Spanish Sahara, & Miami

Sub Pop artist by way of the UK... His next release is due 2/11/13...

Anyone else check out this Ducktails album?? For those of you that liked that Wild Nothing album (and I know there's quite of few of you that do), check this out. They're fairly similar. There's even a touch of Destoryer to it as well (especially in the "Under Cover" song). I expected the album to be good, but it really exceeded my expectations. I love it.

The new Joy Formidable is pretty solid, as well. Not sure if I like it more than their last album, but it's good.

Not a bad album, but I probably heard the best 3 songs ("Faithless," "Tradition" & "Messiah") before the album was released. I kinda ruined the experience for myself and had my hopes up based on those 3 songs. I really liked "Hurting" outside of the aforementioned songs, though.

Speaking of Beach Fossils, their new album leaked awhile back ago. Not bad, but it's more of the same. I always find 1 or 2 songs on their albums that blow me away than the rest of the album never catches my attention. Oh well.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - So Good At Being In Trouble

I'm sure some of you guys know this band but this is the first song I've heard by them and I'm hooked. Gonna check out their first album now.
