Some good stuff added that I never thought about.

I'm pretty proficient with advanced excel and financial statements. I still need to brush up on them though. She asked if I wanted to do the interview on Tuesday or Friday, I chosed Friday to give myself a chance to do my research.

I'll definitely try to research the companies finance situation, possible trading, stock, etc. May not be able to look at too many papers in the interview, but I'll try to have as much knowledge as possible. Already found financial statements from the company from last month for their 1st quarter.

The lady told me they work within a big enterprise. She explained to me that a few things dealing with the curriculum would be accrual payroll, tax returns for Canadian safe track (need to research that), salesman pay, etc., etc. Job would also require about 60-70% travel.

tell them your a thunder fan

They just may get rid of me on the spot if I said that. They partner with the Grizzlies along with FedEx

You need to know general stock information of that day. What the markets opened and closed at. Any other mainstream information. They might ask you about a financial topic recently/in the past that you are were interested in. They'll probably ask you what their stock is trading at, what their main competitors are, etc. Technical question wise they might ask you simple things like how the P/E ratio is sometimes misleading, or what is a better formula to use if you are thinking about acquiring a company. I guess just think about what job they want you to do and the possible questions you might encounter in a project/day to day. Good luck. Wear glasses. That helps haha.

Really depends on what type of financial analyst position you are applying for. Financial analyst can mean several different things (Ibank analyst, Corporate Finance analyst, Wealth management analyst, Accounting analyst, etc.). I've found the toughest interviews to be in equity research (i.e. stock analysis) and investment banking. Honestly, they will more than likely just ask "fit" questions so just plaster a smile and say everything they want to hear.

From a technical perspective, based on the information you provided, it looks like you will be mainly working in the accounting area, so brush up on general accounting - balance sheet - income statement - cash flow rules. If I'm an interviewer and decided to be a jerk (which I've run into many a times), I could ask a simple ratio question such as, "If International Paper's sales went up for the year, but our assets remained the same, what would happen to the Fixed Asset Turnover Ratio?"

Good luck OP.

disclosure: Graduated in 08 with a degree in Finance from a little school in Charlottesville, VA.

^^^ this is a corporate finance position not investment related at all...

corporate finance is basically accounting, you're going to do a lot of month end closing crap. accruals for payroll, tax, AR, AP, inventory, journal entries, general ledger postings, variance analysis, reconciliations, etc...

financial statements
capital budgeting
forecasting
gross margin analysis

as long as you have a strong understanding of the financial statements and how it's constructed then you'll be fine
here's a pdf that might help you http://www.scribd.com/ful...=key-pp3cazz97lv97doq0in
