I'm confused here. So your 3GS failed to last you a year, but you got a discount on it because of an contract renewal. Did you buy the 3GS last year when the i4 released?
It's giving me second thoughts about scooping up whatever updated version Apple drops this summer though, and has me thinking about the Android.
Ok, got it in December of 2010 since I was eligible for an upgrade.  So the phone came out to about $200 with a 2 year extension.  AT&T usually allows you to upgrade by extending your contract 2 years after 18 months making me eligible in June.

Recap: - Purchased the iPhone 3Gs in December
-iPhone 4 dropped in June
-My iPhone 3Gs crapped out in March, 2011.

You should have copped mobile me you idiot, dont blame the phone, blame yourself for not properly backing up ur data.
The irony, you should work on your reading comprehension skills.

I have my contacts backed up, they are not on the SIM card which means I will have to manually input them into a new device.

Wait, unappreciation = hate...thanks for clarifying.

I'm just frustrated that my contacts weren't copied to the SIM like previous devices I've had.  I still have my contacts on iTunes and Outlook, so if I get another iPhone it will be all fine and dandy since all I got to do is sync it.  However, I'm using a BB temporarily so if I want my contacts I will have to input them manually which is a pain in the %%$.

iPhone 4 released in June 2010, why would you cop a 3Gs in 4 months later for the same price as the newer model iPhone? Unless you meant 2009 then that would make a whole lot more sense...

Until it passed the 1 year mark, and it started giving me trouble.  Luckily, I had a backup BB on deck, old but reliable.  I take the SIM card out of my iPhone switch it to the BB...and walla nothing on the SIM card.

I'm not even mad at the phone crapping out (actually, a little), just that it doesn't have none of my contacts on the SIM card (%@@!?).  I do have some of my recent contacts since it was linked to my Outlook, but now I have to manually input them in the BB

as opposed to doing automatically with a SIM card.

I've looked online and the best way to do it with an iPhone is to jailbreak it and using iSIM (What kinda #+#! is that?)

Anyway, the iPhone doesn't want to turn on now which leads me to the conclusion that it is the high maintenance diva (always in a case

), that's unwilling to go the extra mile (...at least until I'm due for a damn upgrade).  While BB is that reliable girl, that isn't exactly "hot" and isn't up to date with what is going on (...wish it had a better browser), but is there for you (BB is over 3 years old, and has taken it's lumps).

Conclusion - I am dissapoint!
if you can get it to power on, take it into an at&t corporate store (not one of those trash reseller spots) and get the contacts transferred. takes 2 minutes to do.

Might just do that, have an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow.

I had a Droid for about a year and it was great. Thing was, I didn't really use half the apps or use it to it's abilities. I basically wanted a phone that would let me browse the web occasionally and double as a nice mp3 player. Unfortunately for me, the droid didn't really pan out to the what I was looking for (music wise). I switched to the Verizon iPhone, and have been happy. It's doesn't do what the droid could, but it's what I wanted.
