I was checking on some of my grades and it said that in my History class I have a C-. My boy told me that a C- is the equivalent to a failure....... Cansomeone please clarify this for me.

Edit: I just realized that I made a C- on the midterm exam that really wasnt my grade for the class lol.......Im still scared though.......Does anyone have anystudy tips so that I can score better on my finals.

At my school, if the class counts toward your major (i.e. not an elective) you must get at least a C+ for it to count. But that might just be my school.

No, as long as it can be transfered out if you plan on continuing education. Employers don't care about your GPA, they want to see the degree and whatyou'll bring to the job. Don't worry, just try harder next time.

minuses don't help on your GPA.

since a C is (2.0GPA), having a C-, would actually put it at like a 1.8 or something.

well technically yeah.. i had philosophy and got like As on the tests but i stopped going to class, didn't write the final paper and didn't take thefinal and was in shock to see that he still gave me a C

Unless you're heading to grad school, I don't believe your gpa matters as much.

I know in my case, a C isn't acceptable.

depends what school at my school its 1.7 Grade points = Fail but some schools dont take (-) as and .3 negative.

D is a passing grade .. however .. that just mean you are paying your tuition on time .. A good and responsible professor will either give you a C or F ..Never a D .. so remember if you get a D the professor just told your #%! you paid in time ..

Passing or failing the course

my psych. teacher asked us this. she asked " is a C a respectable grade?" and everybody said "NO"...i said no the loudest. and she is kindaold, but not senile old, but experienced/wise old.

and she said "a C is certainly a respectable grade, people concern themselves with too much with trying to be perfect and dont appreciated what they aregood at, and only focus on what they are bad at"

that changed my life, and it has nothing to do with grades or school.

for the most part this is true but it hurts your gpa a lot and if you plan on transferring the classes with the D's dont count

I attended 2 colleges/universities, and at both of them, you had to get a C or higher in classes that applied to your major to graduate. In Gen-eds andelectives, you had to get a D or higher.

Plus a wise man once said..."C's get degrees!"
