Kobe's not overrated in the present day...the torch has been passed onto LeBron for several years now as the league's best player, and I don't think that's debatable. Many even put Kevin Durant ahead of Kobe. Surprisingly, Kobe's actually having one of his most efficient seasons so far this year.
As for all time whether or not Kobe is overrated, it's all subjective.
Not to make this a Kobe vs LeBron thread...but...
As a GM/owner, most would choose LeBron over Kobe. As a coach, most would rather have LeBron because he makes the job
easier. As an NBA player, most would rather have LeBron as a teammate simply because he is more willing to get his teammates involved and doesn't always have the "me-first" mentality. Not saying Kobe is always a ball hog, but a lot of the time that appears to be the case.
At the end of the day, people have different opinions, and no one's absolutely right or wrong.
