Its Official, BMW 760 and Audi A8 Are Going To Be Discontinued.

They stole the 7 series interior, they bit the badges and rear body style off the S 550 and the hood ornament of a rolls. Not to mention the exhaust theyjacked from Lexus.

at people saying "just give me an S550"... If you're in the market for the Equus, you wouldn't be able to afford an S550, genius. That's where they develop their niche customer.

"It's just a Hyundai"... with virtually all of the same luxury options of a comparable high-end car competitor.

Somebody here has one and I've been seeing it around my work and when it was at the stop light next to the S550 and Lexus LS (quite a coincidence) itlooked bigger than both of them. Body size is more similar to that of the Phantom or something like that.

im sorry, but i dont think this will come close to outselln any of the luxury brands you named.

60k for that??!!! It looks like a lincoln with a minor upgrade.....to each's own though i guess

I actually like this car over the bmw and mercedes, but definitely not over the audi. I looked on edmunds.com and found more pics of the interior and what not. While the seats don't look great, the dash interface with all the wood n stuff looks great. It looks like its *actually* useable....unlike all the745's I've driven where I STILL can't figure out how to work the radio. Audi still shats on all the upscale cars imo tho. If I could have only*one* car in my driveway, it'd definitely be an A8

Back when Toyota and Honda were first introduced, they were viewed the same way. Hyundai just stepped up their marketing, R&D, and logistics to make a comparable vehicle at a lower cost and use the lower pricing technique as a competitive advantage.

Yep.

um. you get most of the luxury amenities you find in the lexus, bmw, MB, audi flagship sedans for 20-30k less. this will sell. the germans and lexus probablyaren't sweating it too hard, but this is a good deal. hyundai is taking lexus's late 80s early 90s playbook and ripping it straight off. and it'sworking.

it will sell more than the phaeton.
which doesn't say much because i could build a car in my backyard that would sell more than that monstrosity...

i would push the hell out of this whip but that headlight/grill combo gotta go

genesis coupe>_

because most people are slaves to some brands i.e. NT = BMW

Hyundai's trying to break away from it's sister company (KIA) to establish a more prestigious brand. KIA needs to concentrate on targeting the youngersegment.

Exactly. And half the people screamin "Just give me a S550", have never even say in one, let alone afford one.

Yep.

Hyundai actually was condidering developing a separate luxury brand just like what the other companies did but instead they chose to reinvent themselves. Thuscame the Hyundai Genesis, North American car of the year. Not Lexus, BMW, Audi, or Benz... Hyundai.
And for everyone saying "Its still a Hyundai":
Acura is still a Honda
Infiniti is still a Nissan
Lexus is still a Toyota (which explains why all Lexus sedans look like Camrys)
Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover were Fords before it was sold to Tata Motors... The same people who buld these
tata_motors1.jpg

Lamborghini is still an Audi. And some are even built in the US
Bentley is still a Volkswagon and now so is Porsche.

Bottom line, if its a hot car, its a hot car. Dont let allow hype to control your opinion. I see so many people following the crowd and not enough individualson NT nowadays.

If you think we're all tripping. Come back in here a month after it drops and let me know how much it sold.
The problem with Hyundai is that it has an identity issue.
You can tell by the obvious design jacking they took from 4+ cars and by the hood ornament.
You don't add a hood ornament this late in the game. The car looks thrown together. An automotive clusterf&@k.

True, ive never met anyone you look at Hyundai for as a first choice to "Flaunt". But why spend $120k to "Flaunt" when you can spend halfthat and get all the same adminities as that $120k car. By the way, the people that can afford the $120k cars, dont buy them to flaunt.

???

Maybe "flaunt" is the wrong word for it, but the type of person who is buying a $120K car at MSRP ain't buying a Hyundai.

Edit: They are not walking into a funky Hyundai dealership with a bunch of Hyundai Accents, Genesis, Santa Fe's and whatever other goofy named cars theyhave.

This is more of an E-Class/5-Series/GS Killer.

LETS BE REAL HERE

if someones in the market for a luxury car in the 60-80k range, the hyundai dealership is the last place theyd stop, if they stop there at all.

hyundai, we appreciate what youre trying to do, but you gotta crawl before you walk.

Its a complete and utter FAIL for Hyundai. They are the worst made import cars, Are they even imports?
