It's growing a bit on me.

Cole hyped it up to be some out of this world type track though

How can some of you really be losing hope and be that angry right now? He said the album is done. The title is chosen. Jay gave the thumbs up...the REAL single is being mastered and being prepared to launch very very soon.
Contrary to what you guys think...THIS IS HAPPENING. Its coming. This song aint all that, i get it...but why be so dissapointed?

He obviously admitted its a throw-a-away. I know he overhyped it, but still...a free song, it aint even that bad.... and some long awaited news that we never thought would come.

I dunno about ya'll but im excited.

People are only mad because he over-hyped it, and he usually isnt the type of artist to really hype anything, so everybody was expecting some life-changing, make the world flip upside-down type +%@%

Still don't like the song tho, hopefully the single will be coming out soon....like real-life soon, not a J. Cole "soon"

^Yeah I think some of the people that came in here arent really "big fans" of Cole but were/are looking for something to make them a fan of his

those are some of the "disappointed" people and others that are "losing faith" I think, dont care to acknowledge that he said it wasnt the single

Gotta co-sign this.

Now I don't love this song but those people Ace mentioned were probably expecting to be blown away and didn't get that. As a fan of Cole I don't have any expectations before I listen to a song from him I just let that stand alone and judge the music produced for what it is whether that be good bad or average.

i read some people say that "disgusting" is a parody song, rapping how main stream songs are like now, taking jabs at mainstream.

Yeah here is an article that speaks about the fact that it could be a parody: http://planetill.com/2011...e-world-with-disgusting/

I agree with the writer of the article in the fact that if it is indeed a parody (which I can see how it is due to the amount simplistic metaphors) then the message should have came across much clearer. It's a case of good idea but poor execution.

Another good read on Cole and the release of "Disgusting": http://www.baltimoresun.c...20110504,0,6015455.story

Before he performed at the University of Delaware last night, J. Cole looked to reassure his Twitter fanbase (more than 522,000 followers) that their long-standing claims of his pending hip-hop takeover (and subsequently, hip-hop’s return to a lyricism-first mindset) would still come to fruition. He even name-dropped his boss, Jay-Z, the ultimate rap co-signer to prove his seriousness: “Hov say we got the 1, 2 punch ready. I say it’s a even bigger combo than that. !!

I like it. Probably won't download the MP3 but i don't think this will be playin' on the radio's regular rotation.

Ya'll jus' needa listen to it more. The chorus is

Just got back from his show at the Hammerstein Ballroom (NYC). Killed it, as usual. He's got a lot more energy in his lyrics since the last time I saw him this past Fall. I'll update with some dope shots I got of the show in the morning.

Ahhh I left after Cole to go to another event, but nice. Fab's usually pretty consistent. Here's a couple of the many pics I took:

J. Cole's
time at Roc Nation could be coming to an abrupt close.

HipHopWired is reporting that Jay-Z has told the rapper to deliver the album or get the boot.

Just last week Cole spoke about the album nearing completion.

"I know my fans are frustrated with me, because I won't give a date," Cole said."I only gave a date one time in my career last year, and I smacked myself in the face because it was so unrealistic. Now I say it's coming soon, and it's really true, because we're in the final stages right now."

After two years looks like Hov wants a return on his investment.

@ the story turning in to Jigga being impatient for Cole not turning in the album quick enough. I guess that's a better spin than him just remaining on the shelf.

I don't care for Disgusting, the song is just okay. Not what I want to hear from Cole and I hope it doesn't make it on the album.

Jay not playing any games...

I don't know all the politics going on behind his album not releasing... But after Friday Night Lights dropped would've been perfect timing. I know he had buzz before, but after In The Morning started to get big, plus his feature on the radio playing non stop he would've been in perfect position to drop an album.

Good to see Cole doing his thing live though... That NYC show seemed crazy. I remember seeing him during his college run & he definitly stepped up his live shows since then. (He was good live to start out too so that's saying something).

When I saw Cole he was AMAZING live. Best 20 dollars I have ever spent. Can't wait to see him again at Bonnaroo.
