I'm right there with you. Got through it two times and I don't see it having much replay value for me. Too many tracks talking about getting women. Production wise still nice though.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the album. One thing though... as much as I like Mr. Nice Watch, it doesn't fit in with the "official" tracks. It should've been a bonus...

I must say this album is very very good, borderline great. I agree about Mr. Nice Watch, I'd scratch that and wouldn't even waste Work Out being a bonus. Looking at the flow of the album though, Mr. NW is the only track attempting to be something of a club banger so I see why it's there. All the songs impressed except Cole World. Also felt A Dollar & A Dream 3 could've used a different beat or something, the lyrics are def there and the beat is good but the two don't mesh that well for me.

I'd also suggest everybody to switch out In The Morning for Cheer Up. Nothing Lasts Forever is album material too.

Fav song on the album is a 4 way tie with Sideline Story, Rise & Shine, Nobody's Perfect and Never Told.

Don't agree about the album lacking replay value. I've played it like 5 or 6 times already since yesterday (in between Te's and Jewels' projects). This was a well above average debut and as a fan I was unsure of that outcome a week or two ago so I'm nothing but pleased with what Cole has done with his album overall.

I have mixed feelings.
The quality of the songs is wonderful, I am really impressed with it.
But at the same time, it is what we have received in his previous projects (Come Up, Warm Up, FNL).
The thing that I think makes me apprehensive to like it as much as I would is the choice of songs.

Can't Get Enough
Lights Please
In The Morning
Lost Ones
Who Dat
Work Out

^I've heard all those so damn much. Lights Please was on The Warm Up which was over 2 years ago. In The Morning was off FNL which had released prior to that mixtape too. Almost a year old. Also Mr. Nice Watch isn't even what I was expecting for a Jay feature and I just am not that into it.

So you are left with
Dollar & Dream III
Sideline Story
Cole World
Nobody's Perfect
Never Told
Rise & Shine
God's Gift
Breakdown
Nothing Lasts Forever
Daddy's Little Girl

Which leaves you...feeling odd. Because those right there are some damnn good tracks and could be an album on their own.
Just the other songs give me an odd vibe.
Overall, I just wish I hadn't heard the material on here because I would absolutely love it if this was my first exposure.

I feel like that's all I can really judge it on. The quality of music is top notch on this.
Honestly, he surprised me with this. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge Cole fan, but I really didn't expect him to up it with this project. I was afraid he'd sound different. That he'd try too hard to please everyone.

So glad that isn't the case.

No !!%#*+!@, I'm picking up 3 copies on Tuesday. Feels like I watched dude grow from The Come Up. I wanna see him win.

While I think it's a very good album, I think there are a few things missing. Some tracks feel mixtape-like (Ex: Sideline Story, Never Told, Rise And Shine) and some tracks feel album-worthy. With the talk of "Villematic", I had high expectations for this album, but I feel a tad let down. I believe that Roc Nation/Jay meddled in his album too much. Placing LP and ITM on the album that already would have 3 or so tracks dedicated to females was overkill. Rearranging the album would've helped. Plus, I think it was Jay that wanted the album to have more tracks and Cole wanted less?
I've come to expect a lot from him lyrically, and some of these songs don't feature the lyrical Cole I'm used to. I mean, how many times did he mention being hot, ballin', or getting head? I will say that he heard the complaints about constantly mentioning Sallie Mae though.

Production wise he showed out more than he did lyrically.

Rise and Shine has to be one of the best songs ever recorded, I cant stop listening to it.

Really enjoyed the album. Solid 8/10 for me. And really nothing out there has grabbed my attention to listen to all the way through, this did.

where is everyone downloading this from???... is j.cole still going on tour? i thought her broke his leg

this is exactly how i feel and that is why i would give the album a 7/10. I was expecting him to have a least a couple songs that were lyrically on the same level as can i live. That was my only let down and it is still good music and i feel like his production skills got alot better
