Nah my main problems with a Dolla & A Dream 3 is it isn't better than the previous two (I mean he's not saying anything brand new or something) and to me this version the lyrics do not match the beat. It's like those lyrics were intended for another beat. Whatever he was going for didn't work. I feel what he saying but overall the song doesn't sound as good.

I told you fools this is a classic....

and to the guy up there with the long %#+ screen name, I never compared this to illmatic or ready to die, I was only asking when people declared them as classics.

All in all, I feel like there is a lot of scrutiny, this album is good, proud of that man.

Thinking it was a funny line. Til I realized it was the numbers to a perfect triangle.

Please explain.

Never knew that a right triangle was the perfect triangle.

Word. I was just about to quote this.
He's talking about a 3-4-5 right triangle. Easiest to compute any of the sides, hypotenuse, angles etc and easiest right triangle to work with. Mechanical Engineering Major FTW

Maybe this is a reach because where's the double meaning? Where does the triangle come into play? I'm lost.

Triangle= Diamond=Roc= Cole

But this is prolly all a reach lol.... sayin u multiple a chick partners by a certain numbers is like an urban legend

I may be reaching as well, but it may mean that the chick he's trying to get at has a man and he's the second dude causing a "love triangle".
My geometry went out the window the instant I started nursing.

I meant right triangle.

But from the previous line the girl has a man. If she messes with J. Cole its a triangle relationship

I agree. I don't think I like D&AD3 as much as the first two. And it isn't the beat, or the lyrics. I love both, but something about it just doesn't click like the first two for me.

With that said, it's still a great song.

album is hot

how dudes sayin they been j cole fans an liked his mixtapes an not feelin the album?

i dunno w/e man.

I knew he'd give him a 6

Why do people hate pop music?
I dont get it. Pop = Popular.

I mean if it sounds good and still has a message then I don't see why we should hate.

Dreary music doesn't have to equate to good music. I hate that rap fans always think that way.

People like me hate "POP" music because of this reason:

80-90% of human beings aren't able to form their own opinions.

They are "robots," "sheep," whatever you want to call them.

These are the people that resort to pop music.

"Hey, I have no opinion on music... I don't know what songs are poppin', so let me just go with whatever everybody else listens to! Then I can dance with them in the club! Then I can accumulate 'swag points' and people will think I'm cool! And then we can be all cool together
happy.gif
!!!!"

Why do you think little wayne sells 2-3 million copies?

Why do you think Kanye West sells 2-3 million copies?

Because tasteless robots/sheep buy their music.

Why would a person buy a J. Cole album and put in extra effort to listen to the music, only to realize that they're not gonna be as socially accepted (because less people listen to J. Cole) when they could just buy the gimmick of a rapper who told them "I'm the best rapper alive!" ? By buying this person's album, their "swag point count" will go through the roof because all the other sheep will give them *daps* and now they can all be socially accepted and do dances together.

Why buy a J. Cole album when you could buy a Kanye West album and be more socially accepted because his fan club is huge because he told people to drop out of college?

Another reason: People that listen to "POP" music don't know %*#$. They'll crown an artist as "a great rapper" when he's not even a rapper, he's a pop artist. And this is all because he told them to drop out of college.

It's not that I'm not feelin' it. It's still better than all the @%!! that these other rappers are puttin' out. It's still the best album since Nas' "Untitled" and Hov's "American Gangster."

I just feel that his mixtapes go harder.

Also, the fact that the Drake track on here is really annoying to me.

If I were to pick Cole's top 15 tracks, I'd probably only pick 2-3 songs from this album (Rise and Shine, Lost Ones, Breakdown). And that's a MAYBE. His 15 top tracks might all be off his mixtapes.

But I already expected that. Now that he's made a name for himself with the expected sales of 200-250k, let's see what happens with his second album.

Some great track, alot of MEH tracks a few terrible ones. He has talent, I feel like he needs to stop producing all his stuff, because we are three mix tapes and 1 album in and he hasn't evolved at all.
laugh.gif

this is your opinion and all but I find it hard to believe u say he hasnt evolved when Sideline Story, Rise and Shine, Nobodys perfect, Breakdown, sound nothing alike and are all produced by him and IMO perfect records. what songs on his mixtapes have that kind of production, emotion and matching lyrics?
THIS

"Cole has bars, but he doesn't make good music."

Are People Deaf? What is wrong with the beats and production? I have listened to Cole since the come up, ff this was a new mixtape and not an album I would be just as happy.  This is basically his 3rd album anyway...why do people care and start to voice their negative opinions when it's all of a sudden labeled "Album". Smh

The production is good and he's improved but the frame work of his beats are the same to me. The improvement if anything is just bigger budget, but the beats are all very J Cole.

Not sure what Jay Electronics is talkin' about.

1:30-3:30 goes way harder than the timeframe he quoted.

yeah no bull, even Cole said the 3rd verse is crazy and I completely agree...
"This is for the +**$#$$ that played me, what up +$@?"

Cole surprised me with this album. I haven't felt this way about a project since The Warm Up and So Far Gone.

I peeped Friday Night Lights when it came out but never got into it like that and just stopped listening to him until now, and the album is impressive.
