NXT TV Preview (5/1): KUSHIDA Makes NXT Debut Tonight
nxt-tv-preview--5-1-2019--kushida-vs-kassius-ohno.jpg

NXT returns to the WWE Network this evening with this week's episode of NXT TV from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

WWE.com released the following preview for tonight's show:

WWE NXT preview for May 1, 2019: Kushida makes NXT debut against Kassius Ohno

The wait is almost over. This week on WWE Network, the NXT Universe will get its first chance to see international Superstar Kushida in action as he battles NXT UK’s Kassius Ohno in a match requested by The Wrestling Genius.

Will Ohno spoil Kushida’s debut?

Since the moment he signed his name to an NXT contract, the buzz surrounding Kushida has spread like kudzu, and for good reason. Though phrases like “hottest free agent” and “blockbuster signing” might be cliché, they apply in the case of Kushida, one of the most decorated, popular and skilled grapplers in modern Japanese wrestling history. If you’ve already seen his exploits around the globe, you know that to be true. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat.

Kushida’s arrival, however, can’t be considered a total success without a victorious debut, and that’s anything but a far-gone conclusion given his opposition, Kassius Ohno. NXT UK’s Wrestling Genius, who petitioned to be Kushida’s first opponent, is as dangerous and cagey as they come.

Can Kushida prove the hype is real, or will his first night in NXT end with him laid out, staring at the lights?

Can Undisputed ERA right the ship?

Things have only gone from bad to worse for the once-untouchable Undisputed ERA.

Five months into 2019, the faction is no closer to dripping in championship gold than when they started the year. Adding to their woes, finger-pointing has crept into the mix following Adam Cole’s costly slip-up last week, which caused Roderick Strong to lose to NXT Champion Johnny Gargano in a nontitle match that seemed to rankle Cole the second it was announced. Although Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly made sure cooler heads prevailed, one can’t help but wonder if The Undisputed ERA’s problems have only just begun.

Carrillo, Burch & Lorcan to throw down with The Forgotten Sons

After saving Humberto Carrillo from a ferocious beatdown at Jaxson Ryker’s hands last week, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch are set to team with the high-flying fan favorite against Ryker, Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler in six-man tag team action this week on WWE Network.

The Brit-Am brawlers showed great courage in the face of Ryker’s unbridled brutality, but The Savages of NXT will surely be out to prove that no good deed goes unpunished, even if that good deed was done by two of the black-and-yellow brand’s hardest hitters.

Mansoor to battle the dominant Dominik Dijakovic

As Dominik Dijakovic continues to eye Velveteen Dream’s NXT North American Title, The Rare Breed returns to action this week to face the spirited Mansoor one-on-one. Can Dijakovic continue soaring up the ranks and building the case for an eventual title opportunity with another lopsided victory? Or will the upset-minded Mansoor throw the five-tool player for a loop? Find out when NXT streams this Wednesday at 8/7 C on the award-winning WWE Network.
