Prophesizing on your CDs and tapes
Won't break you a crumb of the little bit that he makes
And this is with whom you want to place your faith?
I put dollars on mine, ask Columbine
When the Twin Towers dropped, I was the first in line
Donating proceeds off every ticket sold
When I was out on the road, that's how you judge Hov, no?

I've been real all my life, they confuse it with conceit
Since I will not lose, they try to help him cheat
But I will not lose, for even in defeat
There's a valuable lesson learned, so it evens it up for me

I'm Big Dog, Glenn Rob, listen God you a flea
And the little homey Jungle is a garden to me
What's the problem B? You not as hard as me
@@##+ hard as we, @@##+ R O C, @@##+
That's why they follow me, they feel my pain and my agony, @@##+
I won't rest till you on one knee
You want war then it's war's gonna be, @@##+
Until you on one knee, you want war then it's war's gonna be, @@##+

Fiya analysis: Seriously? Where do we start? I guess the glaring douchbaggery of using the tragedy of 9/11 to explain why he's a better person (and therefore a better MC?) than Nas. I remember when I first heard that +%$%. I was shocked. I mean, dude had de-#%$#%@*-railed. Nas @!+#%$ his head up something terrible. He talks about flutes on the track. He's rapping like Austin Powers. All over the place. And then he takes it back to Kindergarten and accuses people of cheating? CHEATING?!?!?! And He never ended Nas, who went on to have a creative resurgence after clapping up Jay's label. And to end it...he Glenn Rob? *SMH*

and Op, i see right through ya Judas.

post this wack and then go unseen. Sorry man, Nas will never be relevant like he once was.

Dudes are going through extreme levels to try and hate on Jay.

It probably took that guy like an hour to type up that idiocy, and it accomplished absolutely nothing. Whether people love Jay or hate Jay he's constantlybeing talked about, argued against and argued for, considered the GOAT and being called overrated, regardless of what people think about him they'rethinking way more about him than they should be. He must be doing something right.

Dudes like the guy that typed this, and people like M16 have unhealthy hate for Hov. What did he ever do to you to make you so mad?

Hop off.

Truest +!#@ spoken in this thread tho'. BP2 was an abomination. Ether knocked dude off balance.

Honestly... he did make a point out of all of the 5-6 rappers constantly in the arguement for G.O.A.T he is the only one that had to make his own case for thattitle, everyone else was crowned by the people be it peers or the fans.

If you preach up is down long enough eventually some are bound to agree.

You really need to read more...

Jay-Z is an elite MC and I like most of his music but probably the biggest factor that prevents me from considering him to be an even greater MC is his utter lack of (what I consider) substance in his music... This manufactured "hate" he raps about is an extremely clever way to manipulate easily influenced people to elevate him to a level where he is beyond criticism, because to offer a critical analysis of his music is considered to be partaking in this conspiracy of hate against him
eyes.gif
.

And yes, I actually listen to music and don't just skim through it
laugh.gif
.
So what's the point of reading more again?

How insightful

.

While I agree that some people go out of their way to unnecessarily hate on others, people such as yourself are equally, if not more pathetic, when you becomeso emotional in defending someone you don't even know...

Gayest thing I read all day.

No lie i bet G rap felt mad uncomfortable like..."What the %*#! this N doing..."

Deep down, Jay knows his limitations

see, jay never could succeed at the same time as his peer group. his fans are another generation younger. thats why he can get away with lying to his fanbase about RD's classic status and bury his wackness and obscurity level in the rap game pre-Vol 2. the majoriy of his fans/stans have no recollection of this time period. they don't know, so they just go by what he say.

truth is, Jay is a good, but not a great artist. And he can't accept it.

he knows he was never on Big and Pac's level and their deaths spawned his success.

he knows he was never on Nas' level, Jay had to bite Nas' whole style just to bust a grape to gain some ground in the game.

he knows he lacks substance as an artist. fortunately for Jay, the Blueprint's beats were the saving grace and most talked about thing on that album. because lyrically it sucked. why? because it was Jay's most "introspective" album.

he knows that he aint no gutter/grimy/hardcore rapper, despite being from Bed-stuy.

he knows his bread and butter and true talent is in the mindless, frivolous, non-substance having party songs. And that really eats at him. because all of the so-called greats had songs that made n*ggas think, touched the lives of people, as well as entertain. Jay is just one-dimensional.

so his crying, is really a cry to God:

"God, why you bless Nas and not me?"

I think most people (who know about the music) have Jay solidified in their top 5...

You know he could be behind ra, g rap, em and nas and still be Top 5 right?

Remove Em, throw in Kane and you might be on to something.

"and all you other cats still throwin shots at Jigga, you only get half a bar.. %@%% y'all $%%%%%" lyrical retrospective? Dude"analyzed" what? 5 lines?!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but god damn... The whole "Jay-Z isn't the greatest rapper of all timeand this is why" thread is really getting old... "he knows that he aint no gutter/grimy/hardcore rapper, despite being from Bed-stuy."

What!? And NaS was??? 2Pac was?? Big Daddy Kane was??

Lying about RD's classic status? It's regarded as a classic by more than just his fan base.. That's just a dumb statement.

I know I said to move on to another topic hut I needed to elaborate...

Who was in his "peer group" Ja Rule? DMX? Hot Boyz? Other than NaS, you're gonna tell me those rappers held a candle to Jay lyrically and theystayed relevant because of their meaningful raps and NOT they're "mindless" party songs? Because then I'd say you're an idiot. Whom elsewas in Jay's "peer group" that he couldn't keep up with?

I'm sorry, but even as one of the biggest Jay haters on the planet Earth, RD is an undeniable classic.

Well there you have it. If this guy calls anything outside of some obscure cd Classic, i would have to agree, and so should you.
