Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Just applied for a position that makes more than double what I make now. It's a popular company and the position is moreso talent based, and I have specific experience that I think will stand out to them. My boy works for the company in a different department, if I get this it will be life-changing🙏🏾
I'm an excellent interviewer; if I can get an interview I feel like I'll have a great chance at sealing the deal.

Update?

What’s up guys. Checking in.
I’m officially #TeamUnemployed due to the pandemic and will be receiving my last severance check next week.
Applied for Unemployment this week in NY state and it’s a complete mess. Cant get approved until someone calls me back and who knows when that may be. I’ve read some people waiting over a month for it to kick in with no income at all.
I’m currently without health insurance and was told by Healthfirst that once I get Unemployment I qualify for free health coverage but again who knows when that may be.
Really frustrated right now.

Hopefully everyone is staying safe. Just recently moved to Phoenix and looking for work.

I have a BBA in Management and a few years of Supervisor experience. Looking to get into the mortgage industry.

If anyone has any leads please reply or PM me.

My only request is that it's not a call center position where i'm taking incoming calls all day.

Anyone in here doing Workday Consulting or on the tech side of things? Want to know your thoughts on that fiel
I do some consulting on the side. If you plan on getting into consulting fulltime, you're going to have to essentially go solicit business. Go to different companies and hand out cards. Go to different events and do the same. Tell them what you specialize in or what you've worked on etc.

Man that at least gives me some hope. Also hoping that when NY starts re-opening and people get back to work and off UI that is people that are in limbo finally get that call.

get into this affiliate marketing game. Practically nothing to start, can replace your work income altogether pretty quickly

Pm details plz. I've been searching and researching the affiliated game. It goes pretty in depth with writing and such from what I've seen. Plus Amazon commission drop.

I filed a week or so back. Got the call within 2 days but since I’m self employed I was told they’re going to message me another form on the ny portal which to date I have not received. Now I don’t know exactly how long that will all take but I’m assuming 1 month +. Good news if I get it though is when I eventually get it I will get all the money from March til the day I get it all in one lump sum, which would probably be close to 10k if not more

I got laid off in April and applied for FL unemployment on 4/16/2020. My claim is still active and just waiting on getting payments. I used to work for a solar company but laid off. It hard finding another job in FL.

Its not as black and white as this, but would you guys take a higher title at Job A, or 10-15k more in comp and lower title at Job B?

like office work or laboring?

I quit my job a week and a half without anything else lined up. Typically I would never, but I was that miserable. While I was working there, I had so many other leads calling me, and so I figured I wouldn't be unemployed more than a week or so. I have done 3 phone interviews and Amazon wants me to interview, but still in the well we are deciding next week we have some more interviews phase, which I just assume to mean no because I am typically hired on the spot. Just got my final paycheck and they didnt cash me out like a whole week of comp time so I have to get with them on that. OK Unemployment is a joke right now. I did sign up, but I got a notice that my eligibility would only be $188 a week because their records on my wages last yr are wrong even after I corrected it manually on the site, not expecting to get anything from them. Hoping 1 of the 2 I interviewed for last week call back

Worst thing you could do is assume your time unemployed will be short. Unless you're an entrepreneur you really don't have much control over that.
