i put in my 2 weeks at my current spot and all seems well.

Applied to this place ARC maintenance....got a call back the next day to come in for a interview.

Filled out the paper work and the lady tells me to come back that night at 11pm so I can meet the Supervisor and go with him to see what they do and work for an hour to get the hang of it.

I get there and its 3 of us going. After all was said and done the supervisor spoke to us and come to find out BOTH of the other dudes knew people who worked there and pretty much got the job because of it. It was evident with the way he spoke to the others about who they knew/if they had kids (I had none/they had two)/and how long they been out of work (me 1.5years/them bout 6 months each)....It was btw me and some other dude for the position and the other was there for a lower position....The whole time I'm standing there like

I live in the DMV area and have been unemployed since April. I was going to school for a little while but that's done. So I'm back looking. My situation is messed up though. I was "fired" from Bank of America, and I think one of the main reasons I've been having a hard time find work is that they're giving out bad reviews of me to potential employers. So, I've taken them off my resume and sent the revised one out to various jobs and still no prospects. My fear is that my job before Bank of America is telling potential employers that I left to work somewhere else. I don't know, perhaps I'm being paranoid, but my area is pretty much "recession proof" and it's never been this hard for me to find work. However, I'm remaining hopeful.

I've applied to many places in this area, so if anyone needs some suggestions I have long list of places that are hiring.

Also, has anyone worked for Navy Federal? I applied for a "Member Service Representative" position and got an e-mail saying I met the minimum requirements, so they had me take an online assessment that mimicked some of the scenarios I'd face if I were hired. I completed it and was shown a message saying I passed and a recruiter would be in contact soon to take me to the next step. That was July 5th, I haven't heard from them since. Does Navy Federal usually take this long to follow up or am I just assed out? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I know. I prob should have went about that differently. and yea 7.25 is wack. the only way I would even consider working a job that paid 7.25 is if I was getting a lot of hours. honestly, I'm not looking for much. if I could even find a job that paid like 8.50 I would be happy

dont trip i woulda done and same thing.  if u feel like trolling... call sears back up and say u had to take a dookie.. or something came up and u had to run out.  and just say by the time u came back nobody was there.

do you have a degree?  if u dont u should consider buying one online.  get a print out and just bring that to interviews.  i would aim for bookkeeping jobs since they don't care much for degrees.  just act like u know how to do some bookkeeping and say u have 1-2 experience (google some words so u can fool the person) and bam.. start pay for bookkeepers is like 10 and can go up to 15-20 an hour

I've got a few PM's about this.  Anyone interested in where I got my stuff.. just hit me up.

usually it's a pre-screen interview so it'll be the typical HR stuff. just answer the questions to the best of your ability, they're looking for any reason why they shouldn't bring you in for an in-person interview.

appreciate the feedback... hopefully it doesnt go to in depth with the situational questions cuz im more comfortable handling those in person and making eye contact with ppl

DFW people for jobs PM me!

about how long should you wait after a job interview to call them if they haven't already called you back for a 2nd interview yet? like 5-7 days??

after applying for months it looks like i'm finally gonna find something (at least part time)

have a part time gig as a brand ambassador for a new tea company. also have an interview at a sports marketing firm and and for apple coming up. hope one works out

Do you think this whole stock market ordeal is going to take a toll on the jobs? I just got hired at Capital One and I'm kind of skeptical about it.

Well my teaching job search continues as it has been for the past 3 years even though I had a job until recently..i have two interviews on the same day in Brooklyn for Social Studies teaching positions..

I had an interview last week which I thought was a complete waste of time..(teaching assistant job in an Autistic program)..she didn't really ask me any questions..she just wanted to meet me I think..I believe I may have that job but if I get that job i'm gonna have to work 2-3 jobs JUST to make what I did last year..I would like working with Autistic children..and it would give me a great experience but the pay is horrible..we will see what happens with this job..

I am lookin forward to my interviews in Brooklyn..Social Studies is my passion..and i'm hopin one of these pan out..i mean two interviews in one day..gotta get one of them right?
