John Elliott + Co Thread

i got the half zip mercer, and it looked alot better on me in a small than it did a medium. it still has the intended oversized look. sometimes you actually need to.
Exactly!

Oversized items doesn't look good on some body types and sometimes best to size down one. The proportion of the garment will still give you the oversized look just slimmer.

does anybody size down with escobar sweatpants? Love the material but they feel a little large to me. Supposed to be slim fitting, no? Or am i just use to Tech Fleece fit?

they should be just as slim if not slimmer than TF i think. They definitley have some give to them though and stretch during wear, but once I wash them they go right back to how they were

that said. i've lost another 5-10 pounds and definitely need to be seeing what mediums fit like on me. Large is feeling a little baggy in both :lol.

Thinking about adding another villain hoodie... What do you guys think about those recent ones? thinking about maybe maroon or oak.. Any suggestion?

Tried on maroon at saks, loved the color with grey jeans...didn't love the oak color, seemed like a washed out version of the olive, but if that's your thing then go for it

i copped a maroon villain when they first dropped, then 2 weeks later the raw edge hoodie came out and I was kicking myself because id rather have that in maroon than the villain. but im not copping both :lol

Bought a maroon villain a few weeks ago. Really like the color in person.

Will definitely still be wearing villains once it gets cooler out here. Love the way that they fit, and I'm not really a fan of the oversized stuff, even though I do own a kake which is pretty nice.

Mercer half zip will probably be my next purchase...

Thought the sashiko tees looked pretty good, but not at $300. Those things are hitting sales racks at that price point.

i bought one of those tees today (Slate)

:o

haha they look really nice, i wish i felt comfortable enough to spend that much. One day, I've got some years to catch up on you anyways :lol

I've been back and forth on the denim so many times, went with Acne, due to the pricing. Bought 2 for the price of one JE.

i keep forgetting to grab a pair of black Acne Ace denim, recommended by another poster. Hoping to try a pair on first at Barneys

Is there any fit/sizing difference between the Cast 2 Spring / Cast 2 Harlot / Cast 2 Plumas jeans? I have the Harlots; they fit tight (thigh/calves) at first but after two days of wear are now perfect, almost loose. I don't think I need to get these altered at all. Took a chance on the same size Spring jeans and I can barely move around to even start breaking them in, thighs are tight! Probably returning these and looking for a pair of the Plumas.

Thought I'd ask here before I went to SF. Not having the denim around locally to try on sucks. I'm blocks from Azalea and Rand and Statler but they never have the denim in stock.

if they're the re-released springs that just dropped, pretty sure i read that the cut is now the same. they just recently changed it.

honestly, id say give them a few more wears, they'll stretch out

Thanks, yea the restock. I read that as well, just confirming. The thinner knee to ankle is clutch, this is usually where I need to get jeans altered.

I picked up the Harlot and Spring (new cut) denim by JE and I am very impressed.

The Harlot denim is perfect and no alterations are needed.

The Spring isn't quite as tapered as the leg opening is .25 inches wider (laying flat) both are the same size.  The Spring also isn't as stretchy as the Harlot denim.

For anyone on the fence about JE's denim I highly recommend it as it is on par with the best denim I own and I have had all the usual suspects (SLP, Acne, APC, Fear of God, Amiri).
