I have an issue with the pricing, sizes and the bacon-necks as Hanes and MJ put it.
First of all the price of a Jordan shirt, shorts, pant's, jackets, and etc. are out of line. I can get darn near the same pair of any of those items or close to them from your sister company Nike and save money. I don't buy a lot of JB clothing due to this. The best shirt that has come out recently is the JB Polo shirts. The only problem for JB is that I can buy the real "Ralph Lauren Polo" shirt for less.
Now we all know that MJ has a contract with Hanes. Hanes latest campain slogan is the collar that doesn't "Bacon". Can JB explain why all of the JB shirts neck "Bacon"? Wouldn't you think that JB would use the same Hanes technology in their clothing? I know that Hanes and JB are two separate entities; however JB is Michael Jordans company and he has this working relationship with Hanes, so why don't they partner up? I mean MJ supposedly wears Hanes that don''t bacon, yet his own clothing line does bacon. Also, Hanes T-Shirts cost much less and do much more than the JB T-Shirts and/or regular collared shirts.
Another example of JB's clothing failure will have to do with it's fitted hat's. JB's fitted hats are crappy and the shape of the hats are off. JB needs to contract/sub-contract with "New Era" and get their fitted game up to par.
As most have stated by now, his clothes are tacky. They're tacky due to all of the cliche's that are printed on them. Cliche's are dead like the word "Swag" should be (sidenote: the word "Swag" has lost it's mojo a while ago, yet a lot of you haven't gotten the memo yet). Those catch phases are done and over with, so please, stop putting them on T's. Get a more clean and subtle look, not a swap meet/flee market/karmaloop look. Everybody and their momma has this look. Get back to being innovative. Like I said, the last good shirt that JB brought to the table was his Polo shirts, but the price isn't right. Most people would rather go to the Polo store, Nordstrom, and/or Macy's and buy Ralph's Polo's for that price and/or less. Yes, that is correct...less.
I know you JB people lurk in these threads, so please, I beg you to steal my ideas and put them to good use.
No more bacon neck.
No more outdated catch phrase t-shirts.
No more rape prices on the same/similar items that Nike carries, but for less. Research the market, before you price your clothing.
JB would sell more if they stepped their game up and subcontracted with companies like, "New Era, Levis, Hanes and other American classic companies. They would do well, because these companies are iconic to clothing as JB is to shoes. JB wasn't born as a clothing company, nor are they any closer to becoming one. Leave the clothes up to companies like the previously mentioned. Maybe JB can learn a lot from working with other clothing companies like those. Research/Studying/Education is key.
P.S. Oh yeah, get off of the House Of Hoops nut's and start spreading some of these exclusives around for all of the people to enjoy. It get's old paying resellers prices on limited edition shoe releases.
No pun intended, but how in the heck does Niketown Las Vegas get exclusives before Niketown Denver? We're a much larger city, more populated, have a great & bigger sneaker culture/market, and Denver, CO. is the main hub for all travelers heading west in the United States. Please explain?
P.S.S. Contact me if you need more ideas, I have plenty more to steal, but I'd rather get paid.
Now I digress. Lol!
