Jordan III Desert Elephant - July 30, 2022 now

Thats how the OGs were, the tongue was flush with the top collar on the OG pairs. Same goes with the 4s. The 5s was the first model that had a tall tongue
So are all of MJs pairs PEs? There's been lots of pictures posted here on NT with the tall tongue.

Or was it one of those things were it varied from factory to factory?

Had to touch these up with a bit of acrylic paint to my liking. Their inspiration in the background.

:nthat:
I like it

I'm thinking of blacking out the "A I R" and leaving the jumpman white on my 2nd pair. Then ima leave my 1st pair in its original form. Then black it all out like you did on my 3rd pair.

Bout to have 3 different versions lol

So, since these are on topic with respect to shape and similarity to Black/Cements...I had a midsole and heel tab replacement completed on my '01 pair. I finally got them back after a long wait.

Quick notes of opinion...I never copped any of the previous Black/Cement because of the overall shape and elephant print issues. I DID cop the Desert Elephants cause they looked fire to me from day one (the initial rendering and then the actual release version). And also because they reminded me of the '01's and 94's. Anyway....without further ado, some eye candy. Midsole was painted sail to give the aged look and keep separate from the test. Threw in some shots with my 99 IV's as i was looking at both earlier. DEIII box present cause I was comparing;

Watched that video ^

The funny thing about people having issue with the elephant print is it’s actually closer to what “elephant skin” looks like than what we’re used to from JB.

So far I can tell these are built like tanks. My only concern is the suede portions getting stains over time. Kinda wish they just gave those the leather treatment.

Well, what I can say is that you've got pairs that he will absolutely do wonders on! As you see in my post, he completed my 99 IV's and the '01 III's. Check him out on IG. "Ammoskunk" is his handle...there's another post I wrote that gives the detailed story on my experience with him. He does amazing work...The IV's he completed within 90 days. The III's...I waited almost 2 years. Really, it was like a year and 8 or 9 months, but...you get my point.
He's nearby me in Texas...So when I picked up my III's, we chopped it up and he'd mentioned the life-roadblocks that delayed the work...as well as some other projects that took precedence as he's had a chance to restore several game worn and autographed pairs...As well as mentioning some burnout from doing so many restorations over time. But he may still be open to accepting projects. Just be prepared for a potentially long wait.

He WILL complete the work...he will communicate (sometimes at his own pace)...but his pricing is fair and work is pretty incredible. Good luck!
