On top of everything else, are you telling me the AIR is still misaligned? Sure looks like it here.

I'm not gonna pretend like I prefer the leather.

It drops them a bit but being able to purchase a new shoe counts for quite a bit.

Purchasing 5-10 year old shoes that may be fine or may crumble isn't what it's cracked up to be.

I'll tell ya what I don't get...
Is guys paying $400-$500 for USED 2019 Blk Cement 4s that are pretty off from the OG. THAT'S a mind melter. At those bucks, I'd source a 99' and pay a restorer to bring em back to life.

By the amount of disgruntled opinions on the 2024 pair, looks like getting a pair for myself will be pretty easy. I'm all about OG specs, but when Jordan Brand IMPROVES something, nostalgia means **** to me. I'll take leather over nubuck on J4s any day of the week.

There are way too many purists out there that die on hills for no reason. Perfect example is the Wizards 3. I've already spoken on that enough on here im not going to repeat myself, but its lunacy. But can't be too surprised when guys are making shoe purchase decisions based on what other dudes are wearing 🤷🙃

I tried so hard to like these. Black Cement 4 is my #2 favorite sneaker. I own every release from 89 to 2019. I think the streak ends here.

No one’s dying on a hill over it. Some of us want the shoes we had and MJ wore while creating some legendary moments. And then there’s the view, one I hold, that the nubuck looks better, regardless. Of course, that’s just an opinion—as is thinking leather on these is an improvement.

Oh...you're mistaking that exact statement I made. The dying on a hill was specifically geared towards guys that wouldn't buy the Wizards J3 bc of the jumpman heel, even though that's EXACTLY what he wore when he played in them.

I dont have an issue with nubuck on J4s, I just think leather looks better and the fit is probably nicer. 🤝🤝

Being that I had/have laser 4. I'll take this with the quickness.
They could have dropped them without the laser etching in this shape+materials and I would be just as happy if not more. Only thing I would miss is the Nike Air. 3s and 4s need the logo more than any other model imo.

Even if you got a pristine pair of '99s, that durabuck is on a timer if you intend to wear them. Plus I'd have to imagine (could be wrong, I haven't checked in years) that the '99s, the donor sole, and labor is putting you a couple hundred over the price of those used pairs you're talking about.

I sat the 2019s out, but there's value in getting a shoe that isn't a few good sprints from crumbling and cracking in some way, especially if you aren't someone that's a stickler for detail accuracy.

Don't get me wrong I prefer the OG but since I have and still wear my Oreo's and I feel like they wear really well.

I'm looking to double up on these.

So does that mean you will prefer black nubuck 3s over the OG BC 3s?

You quoted yourself??

But anyway these leather 4s are pointless, even though the 2019 isn’t perfect, the closer materials out weighs the better shape imo 100%. The Wizard 3s are also pointless. We have too many 3 that look practically identical.

Good question. No, but I bet I think nubuck IIIs look better than leather IVs.
Some of this is certainly related to just what I’m used to seeing on a shoe/colorway for more than 30 years. Changing it now, it all just looks wrong.
