Jordan Retro 1 '85 Black/Red Feb 14th 2025

If they think this gonna restart and bring back hype they in for a big surprise. I'm in the streets heavy and shops. The kids don't give a flying **** about jordans no more unless it's a thunder 4 variant. Only us old heads/collectors wanted these. It's asics all day for the youth. The only nike they rocking with heavy rn is supreme black af1. Making these limited will do them no good. Feeding corny complex early pairs for thirst traps is a joke and screams desperate. That team over there been on the runner wave before the hype and lowkey been sick of JB rehashing the same styles/re issues. Willing to bet behind the scenes they tried em on and laughed at how uncomfortable they were while collecting that nike/jb $$$

Jordan 1 been tired for awhile now. Chicago Reimagined's fell hard. JB trying to rejuvenate a dying non-enthusiast market. but it's too late, sun has set and they've gone. good riddance. I kinda don't even want these lol. esp at 250. Loved seeing black cement 3 sit for like a week. Been able to get all these OG colors with ease. The hype era is over. thank the lowd.

So I’ve read the Complex interview and watched the videos. I don’t understand what they’ve done differently from any other AJ 1 85 that has been released. Am I missing something? They’ve had the same research and development jargon since the 2020 pairs.

These look completely different than other 85's though at first glance. Overall shape is different and better, especially in the sleekness of the toe, the midsole has been changed....and then there's all the silly small details that were mentioned in the article you read. These are completely different from say the White/Grey 85's that released. Those always looked weird to me.

yeah i agree with most sentiments on this supposed stock figure

these could hypothetically be mad limited and resell for a stupid amount & it still wouldn't bring back hype to the 1s, nor will the black toes or SBB retro....

just annoy collectors and or grumpy old heads who at this point feel indifferent or satisfied with their collections & have other life goals & priorities:lol:

I'm just curious if/how they'll do a drop in SF for All-Star Weekend.

I’m trying to not look at this release in a vacuum because we’ve gotten a TON of dope sh*t over the past 2-3 year but this particular release being so out of reach is disappointing. This color way on this shoe, executed this way has been what enthusiasts, fans, collectors, etc have been asking for so long. To limit THIS shoe the way, they had to known this wasn’t going to go over well with their most loyal consumers. So why take this approach? The fact that this is being limited to 23 stores has pretty much evaporated the positive hype around the shoe and release.

Because your nostalgia is a commodity, your connection to the brand is a commodity. Sorry, it just is. The ugly truth people don't want to face is that Nike cares about making money, that's it. Stop looking at this from the enthusiest side and look at it from the corporate/boardroom side. They feel like they need to drive up hype and will do whatever they need to do to achieve that. Someone said it earlier, JB likes to see how far they can push things sometimes, because even if people get pissed, as long as they stick around and buy product they can release something else to keep you hooked in the future.

If this ends up being a successful campaign to bring back hype expect 85 cut Chis, 89 cut BC4s, or 88 cut WC3s, etc.
