Um but you didn't....

False. You guys are looking from the audience perspective, which is understandable. But from a production standpoint, Blaze knows what he's doing. Just hisway of construction, you can tell he knows what he's doing. He utilizes a musicians feel and vibe, which most hip hop producers DO NOT do that.

Just Blaze has more knowledge of music and production than Kanye does. *puts on flamesuit*

No. For the simple fact that most producers at least put a new drum pattern or somthin, he just literally sped up a sample and put his name on it.

Well then, you can tell him yourself he's overrated.

Go to http://themegatrondon2.com/ and join the live chat w/ Just Blaze lol

Dude digs up one sample credit & he's an expert all of a sudden.
My only problem with Jus is that his samples are too recognizable sometimes.

Only people that overrate him is NT so I agree in that sense. But as far as general public goes i'd probably say he's underrated. Especially hiscontributions to the Blueprint album which 'till this day is his best work for his career. He's a good producer though. He's also diverse enough togo into other genres. He killed "Throwback".

Ehhh, I don't really have a problem with this. Sometimes I like to hear recognizable old songs bein flipped around.

Like someone said, I think he is more in tune with the original artists idea for what vibe they wanted the song to have.

That's pretty much what a producer is these days, at least in the hip-hop genre.

The whole "skill" pretty much comes from having a good ear and resources to look though, then access to equipment. That's it.

I'm not complaining though. Even though the amount of work may be questionable, the outcome - the ability to hear a sound or vibe in a different, moderncontext - is really all that matters.

I'd rather be listening to a simple loop with some extra drums rather than some cheap sounds thrown together that sound like garbage.

When it comes to saying "I could do that," I think that statement pertains more to the Soulja Boy, Bay Area, etc. type production rather than thesample-based side of the genre. It may seem easy once you have a sample to work with, but finding that sample and using it effectively is more complicated thanreusing the same 808 sounds in different patterns.

With that being said, the Ignorant S--- beat, even though I love it, is a little too simple from a production standpoint. Just thought I'd though that out.

LOL @ his reply in the chatroom.

Someone asked why did he just loop "Dear Summer"?

Just Blaze: Cause it was HOT!..........STUPID !

wow, I didn't know this was an original song. I'm not surprised, and a lot of producers do similar things..

Thats why I prefer Southern producers (Toomp, Runners, Cool & Dre, Mannie Fresh, etc) cause its more musical chord progressionm etc. Where East Coast ismore loop your grandparents records and add drums from another record. Alot of your favorite producers do that just go to ultragraphik.com/blog and u see verylittle is done to the sample

Just Blaze himself has viewed this thread fellas
