Have you people seen the movie "V For Vendetta" ? That movie showed how the gov't used fear, and manipulated the media, all to control the country. Come on guys, govt is corrupt.

It all depends on what you expect from the government. In a sense, I don't trust the government to make an impact on my life at a personal level. That's why I don't vote for president. Doesn't matter who's in office, it's really just not going to affect me, on a day-to-day basis, or in any way that I can tell. But i do trust that the government is doing everything they can to keep the country safe, I trust they aren't tapping my phones or reading my e-mail (unless I give them a reason to), etc.
You can make blanket statements all you want, but clearly you must trust some things about the government or you wouldn't be here.

If everyone here does not even remotely trust the government, why are the vast majority of you guys left wing/socialists. You guys do not trust government to tell the truth or to act in your best interest but you want them to control every major economic decision made in your life.
So many people want government to do things for them but it must be government in the abstract because it the actual, very unpopular government, that would be administering your education, housing, career and health care.

I use my common sense about certain things and research it if i have any doubts but i aint tryna give the government any reason to put that patriot act into effect
