Kid shot & paralyzed over Marmot "biggie" coat @ Bryant Park VOL Hurtlocker coat makin waves in NY

uptown cats.... smh

yea marmots was always a uptown thing, especially harlem.

north face for example became a "Spanish thing" as funny as that sounds (da papi shampoo k steezy types would gravitate towards steep techs & summit series)

and da uptown & BX blacks with a couple of ricans would hop on da Marmots.

this thread is blowing my mind. north face parkas was da...THE coat to wear in high school. especially the mcmurdo snorkels. i NEVER heard of marmots being big like that. i went hs from 2002-2006. but this was in queens! i didn't know uptown had a different style poppin off. man these black kids kill each other over the dumbest **** i swear.

As a snowboarder, Marmot first came to light for me once i started hitting the mountains heavy. It was just another technical brand like North face, patagonia, columbia, etc

and this story is sad. kid went to get some fun skating in and some N paralyzed him over a coat. AN ARTICLE OF CLOTHING. :{. im glad the **** i wear isn't hood approved.

and props to paragon/marmot for taking initiative and cutting the fuel to the fire. coat might've been ninjahood approved in style, but if kids are holding each other up over it, then its plenty of reason to stop making it. a coat like that won't hurt business anyways to stop producing.

oh they buy the coats to hide **** in it? guns? narcotics? wait wait...are these kids supporting bloombergs stop and frisk policy? >D :{

You from queens though.

No disrespect but it's a known fact that Queens dudes is soft.
Especially the Spanish cats...dudes is just funny.

Won't make it a week uptown.

naw i wouldn't say that....plain perhaps, but if you get em in a actual decent size they look ite, i got a all black goretex "biggie"

I haven't seen one in person. But I'm saying they're ugly based on the size. I still got my snorkel from 7th grade

I would guess that's a picture from the Jim Crow era.  I'm talking about any individual with no regard for the public and shoots at or causing bodily harm to an innocent person as was the case with this particular situation.  Big difference champ.
the current laws are already written in an impartial manner, but tend to be enforced with well documented partiality.... how can you propose public executions without addressing the existing disproportionate enforcement that will lead to disproportionate executions?

Are you just yelling out an obscene solution without thinking, or is this an actual issue that you spent time studying?

(the picture is just an example of what your executions will look like)
I'll take that as confirmation that the picture is from the Jim Crow era, thanks.  If you read what I wrote, I said in situation where the criminal is clearly guilty of a shooting or causing bodily harm to a victim or group of victims in a public setting.  Key word "clearly".  This individual in this case is guilty as can be, so there wouldn't be a disproportionate execution.  For criminals such as this one, if you want to endanger the lives of the general public in a manner such as this, I'm in a favor of a public execution.  Same rules apply to the two individuals that caused the attack at the Boston marathon this year.  If you want to read this criminals a book, put them in jail or try to analyze their minds to figure out why they commit crimes such as this, or whatever that's on you.
Why are people saying the shooter's parents should be held accountable?
Fruit doesn't fall far from the tree that bears it.

You from queens though.

No disrespect but it's a known fact that Queens dudes is soft.
Especially the Spanish cats...dudes is just funny.

Won't make it a week uptown.

all i said in my post was im surprised marmot had a jacket that was popular enough to pull the trigger over. Marmot wasn't heavy in queens, it was Bear when i was young and North Face by HS. thats all im saying...

Da upper tier coats, leathers, and jackets tend to

Get a foothold in popularity uptown & da bx first,

then Diffuse to da outer boroughs later...it explains

Why Brooklyn & queens is usually late catching on..

Take Cam's style and compare it to Ghostface Killah

Out in Staten Island, and you'll catch my drift.

ok so to explain people the difference between the "biggie" mammoth (the one people get killed over) and the other stuff marmot comes out with I took some pics of my jacket/coat to show everyone.

as you can see, the pockets are slanted on this jacket. This is the most obvious difference that all biggies have after about 2005. The other marmots have different pockets and these are not sought after like the biggie.

Yeah my marmot is definitely older than yours.

You got da paragon exclusive model, i gotta figure

Out what year my version dropped. I dont even have

Slanted pockets so im guessing 2009.

Also I think the biggies became paragon exclusive around 08-09. Before that they were available in other shops(I'm pretty sure). I saw a really old one on eBay once that even looked like it was made in the 90s :lol

Anyone think paragon is going to bring back the biggies a year or two down the road being that it was such a big seller for them?

Man all I want is a Northface Nupste, don't even care if they ain't what's "in" right now.

Can't find one tho. :{

naw they weren't paragon exclusives, because they dropped em every year and all da sports in harlem, and fordham had em.

what paragon got was either its own colors, or just their exclusive patch on da inside.

i got this in black (i think its da 2009 mammoth) and it literally da last year of da subtle big boy, as you can see it doesn't say marmot anywhere on da front of da coat, its got it on da left

upper sleeve, and da gore-tex, 700 fill embroidery on da wrists, all in tonal stitching so it doesn't even stick out.

da next year and up till they stopped making em subtle, da marmot brand was then moved to da front on da pockets, and no longer tonal, it had contrast stitching to stick out more.

1000w.jpg

this one, notice they also added da zipper hand warmer pockets, while da one i had also had hand warmer pockets, but without da zipper, just on da seam on da chest.

Yeah u definitely got one of the older joints. I think someone had it on the nt classifieds up for sake a few years back, even bringing up the different styled pockets
