Considering what could have happened this was an okay trade deadline.
Listen i'm the biggest Zubac fan, I have his t-shirt jersey not that that means anything, but I understand the play. I would have much rather them trade McGee but I think he fits better with LeBron ('ll talk about this later).
The Pelicans did us a favor, IMO of course, they could have taken everything we have plus our future for AD who would have been amazing but to me not worth all of that. Where are we now, right where we started at the beginning of the year, a time where all of us were content for the most part.
We have LeBron who should be healthy, a good young core (don't tell me they aren't good anymore because some inept franchise didn't want them), and cap space for the summer.
Yes we can strike out in the summer, yes we can not make the playoffs, yes we can end up looking silly, but this was the plan, and regardless of whether we added AD or anyone we weren't going to beat the Warriors, it was always next year and that is what we've done, we've pushed it to next year.
Now regarding LeBron, I now see, with proof, that he runs this team, this isn't Jeanie's team this isn't Magic's team, this isn't Pelinka's team, its LeBron's team plain and simple. We sold our soul to get him and now we have to ride it out. I hate LeBron, i've never liked him, but when he put on the purple and gold, it's time to ride with him. After this fiasco, it just reaffirms my thoughts of him, but it don't matter he still rocking the Laker Purple and Gold and we go to war with him. If we bring in Melo (which isn't the absolute worst thing in the world, rather have say Kanter or Ellington) we know LeBron is all over this.
Bottom-line, I hate pulling out the "I've been a fan of this team for x amount of years" card, but i've seen the highs and lows of this team, from the Anthony Peeler, Sedale Threatt, and Elden Cambell days to prime Shaq and Kobe days, keeping these kids isn't the worst thing that could have happened. This team was competing against the best when healthy, and I don't see any reason why they won't continue to when they do get healthy. Lakers took a huge PR hit with this swirl coming out about trading everyone, but **** it, it is in the past and the players need to know that too. Lakers are still the Lakers and we still will do the due diligence of getting someone in the off-season and say we do land that person and couple them hopefully with a healthy LeBron and playoff tested young core, that will be a fun season.
I find it extremely poetic that we face the Celtics today after all the **** this week, and frankly the history between the two teams, I don't expect to win because the Celtics are a good team and the Lakers are injured and haven't played well, but **** it a win today would be great, and a huge boast for the team, they can put this **** behind them (seems like Lonzo and Hart already have, and BI never really cared) and start worrying about the play on the court.

Was the Zub trade for cap space or expiring contract from Mike? Looking at his stats looks like his only upside is rebounds and maybe quicker than Zub. Sucks to let big Zub go nice to have a big center playing true center.

Ball is in AD and Rich Paul’s court now. They need to make noise if pels try and sit AD. Then they need to say he might have surgery this off season and will wait to see where he will be playing before having the surgery.... make the Pels regret not trading him. Doubt it though, these cats ain’t built like Lavar.
