**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Just my thought. Magic/Rob should have done their due diligence. Make contact behind the scenes. Get a feel for the big FAs and how they feel about Lebron. Hell, even us on NT can see how his teammates get tired of being the scapegoats on his teams.

I know it’s on Lebron, but how did Magic not see this coming? If PG wasn’t all gun-ho about joining Lebron that’s a red flag

This doesn't make sense. Y'all forget the timeline of events from last summer? We we're the laughing stock for a day after PG decided not to give us a meeting. At that time Magic had already decided to meet with Bron. I know in hindsight we shouldn't have signed him, but there wasn't anyway to foresee that players would have this much of a lack of affinity to want to play with him. He was supposed to be the draw, everybody said he was going to be the draw at the time. Bron said he'd be able to recruit much better than before being here.

It's one thing if we get a meeting with a Kawhi and we can't convince him but still that's an indictment on Bron and Magic since one is supposed to be the draw and recruiter and other is supposed to be the closer. But if no meetings even take place how is that on Magic?

I remember last year everybody in the media reported how Kawhi wanted to be traded to the Lakers (prior to him being traded to TOR and before reports surfaced rhat he may want the Clippers instead).

Then this year we basically found out A.D. wants to be a Laker.

Magic said this summer we'll be "back, back, back," basically hinting that we'll have a Big 3 plus Lonzo to challenge the Warriors.

Could the vision perhaps be a team with A.D., LeGM, Kawhi with Lonzo spearheading the new Lake Show?

PG basically told em he was coming tho right? You think Mintz had a lot to do with it or nah?

I really don't think it's anyone's fault if player x decides to go elsewhere this summer.

the only issue with signing Kawhi is his fit with Lebron and BI. Kawhi is a ball-dominant ISO player like BI and Lebron and all 3 of them play pretty much the same position. Would we just stagger minutes at the 3-4 spots between BI, Kuz, Bron and Kawhi? It's a good problem to have, you can never have too many athletic wing players, but there's alot of overlap and I can imagine a scenario where the young guys are marginalized.

im under the impression that Bron would be more PG.. i mean he def still needs the ball but he is often pass-first.. sometimes to the detriment of his team lol
Kawhi is good off the ball too right? BI (and Kuz) have developed in that aspect (off ball cuts, repositionin, etc.)
Bron will find thme

and also Kawhi would prob be the closer a lot of the nights too and he's really good at it

If Kawhi signs with LAL, I can see Magic offering B.I., Kuz, KCP or Hart, plus the top 10 pick for A.D.

As much as I love Ingram, his 27 ppg avg post All-Star break is the leverage Magic needs to convince NOP that BI is a better asset than Tatum and that LAL has the best trade package to offer

Then what is Zo gonna do on the court if Lebron is playing the point?

THE PELICANS ARE NOT TRADING ANTHONY DAVIS TO US OUT OF SPITE

-Thx management

Bron needs to give up playing PG and get his *** in the post like in Miami

From Marc Stein's latest newsletter:
Who, then, will the Lakers hire? The name most frequently cited in league coaching circles is the very available Tyronn Lue.
Lue, of course, is a former Laker who is better known for having coached LeBron James for 2 1/2 seasons in Cleveland.
The presumed acceptance he would have from James, who is about to begin his first postseason as a spectator since 2005, would appear to give Lue with a significant advantage over the rest of the field.

not even sure.. those 2 weren't on the court long enough together for a solid sample size lol

only thing i've seen is that as much as bron said he wants to play off the ball he cannot. he may not have to bring the ball up all the time though and operate out the post.. he's done so partially this season. usually hitting BI or Kuz on cuts from there lol.

I'm good with Ty, he's 100x better than Puke.

Tonight is a must lose game for the tank.

Same guy broke news that we’re signing PG and trading for AD. He currently 0 for 2.

Enough of these fraud *** scoop B types. If it ain't coming from the LA Times peeps who do have the inside scoop from the Lakers or Chris Haynes who is Lebron's camp guy then it ain't worth mentioning.
