**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

We have to work on our defensive rotation.

Our scheme will work vs bad teams but smart teams move the ball well. I can't count how many times we left open shooters to triple team somebody who didn't warrant it. If the plan is to double everytime we will continue to get burned.

Yeah I lowkey hate that about the design
Always giving up open 3s not sure if it’s worth it tbh lol

Next 12
9-3 imo

Adding Iggy = Profit
Trade.PNG

I've seen this trade kicked around for the last month or so. I don't know if OKC values Kuzma like that, but with the emergence of Shai, moving Schroder is a possibility.

If/when Memphis come to their senses and realize a trade for Iggy won't happen and he gets the buyout................................this could be it. KCP has played so much better since the first month of the season, and Cook is a great locker room/Bron guy, but German Rondo is only 26 and could be a legit 3rd scorer and an actual PG. Maybe THT instead of Cook, but whoever goes is gonna suck considering the team seems to be somewhat close.

Buyout market is always big for contenders. Highly doubtful, with the Iggy situation, but Crowder? I thought Crowder was mid 30s this ***** is only 29.

AD gotta play 5 for the Lakers to be a championship team.

He does and will. Depending on who's rolling, he generally finishes at the 5 with Bron at the 4. If Dwight is playing well, isn't in foul trouble, and there's an actual C on the floor, they may finish with him on the floor since he's protects so well. Dwight/AD has been hell on teams inside the arc. Just hard to expect 7 footers to consistently rotate beyond 20+ feet consistently when their whole careers they've been told to sink and protect that rim.

They'll always start a C like the Warriors did with Bogut, Damion Jones, Javale etc.

I mean, is that really a bad thing?

Wasn't AD supposed to get Boshed playing with Bron? :emoji_thinking:

All speculatory anyway. OKC might not want anything off LA considering they do want to shed salary and the KuZ might not peak their interest (If they offload Galinari first they will be). But more than being a third scorer, German Rondo can get his own shot, his speed and penetration makes him a decent playmaker, and a 80+% ft and somehow 34% from 3 on 5 a game which he creates himself. Certainly not Kyrie level shot creator or shooter to this point. But decent. Not to mention the pnr propensity and potential with AD.

I want to see those numbers playing off Bron and AD. Plus he can get his on the second unit with Dwight too. And once again, someone taking the ball out of Bron's hands besides American Rondo. That's moreso important than being Bosh or another 20+ guy for them.

American rondo lol.

I never expected that because AD is a 2nd option, not 3rd. Basically anybody who gets slotted in that 3rd spot will not live up to expectations. I'm not against upgrading the roster but just gotta keep that in mind

We 24-5

If anybody told me that before the season started I wouldn’t believe it.
Let’s give Kuz until all star break to see what he can add to this team.
So give him 6 weeks?
When is he even coming back to play?

This is season is close to be a complete loss for him

LeBron out tomorrow with a bad back.

Kuzma should be back tho.

:frown:
Good. He needs to rest for 2 weeks. Seeding doesn’t mean anything. Get healthy and rested and go all out starting February

on a side note,of course we lose our top 3 players during possibly the most difficult stretch of games possible all while Danny green forgets to shoot. Lakers curse is very real

Speaking of trade targets, there's one guy I think I would like the Lakers to trade for. It wouldn't take much either.

Alec Burks
-Athletic
-Can make plays off the dribble
-Decent shooter
-Not sure how he is defensively tbh
-On a veteran's minimum
Dude.... I was watching highlights of their game last night and thought the exact same thing. Athletic wing who is young and motivated.

A series of stress fractures limited Burks to just 100 games from 2014 through 2016, and he has not played at least 75 games in a season since 2013-14. Last year, Burks was traded three times and finished year with the Kings. In 13 games with Sacramento, he averaged just 1.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists.

Even when he’s been healthy, he’s struggled to stay in the rotation be it due to questionable shot selection and decision making or unreliability on defense.

Not the kind of guy you want on a team where minutes are scarce especially who's not known for defense tbh.

ESPN reporting Lebron is also having groin issues...

Same injury that had him gone most of the year last year...
