**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Ingram struggles against playing the Lakers, sheesh 5-23

Our rough stretch coming up 76ers, Bucks, then Clips

Great W. LeBron playing well isn't surprising, but nice to see Kuzma have a good game.

Anyway, I don't know why people are so excited for Dion Waiters. Dude is a head case, and the risks of the negatives he might bring to the locker room outweigh any positives he might bring on the court. I remember the chemistry between him and LeBron when they played briefly back in the 2014-15 season as not being good. I have a feeling that he will complain about not getting enough playing time when he isn't playing, and complain that he isn't getting enough shots when he is playing.

Being a head case does not prevent the team from winning, or even prevent championships. JR Hennessy, Rasheed Wallace, Ron Artest, Dennis Rodman, all champions. All major pieces to championship teams, actually.

If Waiters was the type of head case like Rodman or Artest, teams would be fighting to add him. The Lakers probably wouldn't have a chance at getting him because Jerry West would've probably picked him up already.

Somehow I don't think Waiters is the one we need. But I could be mistaken.

He's a better add at this point imo than Henney Smith or the Ear Whisperer.

They picked up Morris, which all things considered, was a great acquisition, because it looked like they were going to pick up no one.
If they really want a head case, they would be better off re-acquiring Lance Stephenson than Waiters. At least Lance can channel the fact that he is crazy into something positive - on court energy. At times, at least. Waiters is just a lazy bum.

Good thing is that Waiters is repped by Rich Paul and so he will have a leash on his guy as to not ruin chances for his two golden geese (LeBron and AD).

I wouldn't opposed to Waiters but who's minutes is he taking? Waiters doesn't strike me as the just happy to be on a good roster guy.

Lost to the Griz, beat the Pels :pimp:

Would be funny if JR and Waiters sucked and we just re-signed signed Daniels. Not sure if that's legal though.

I trust the lakers brass to make right decision. They will vet both these guys and also factor in attitude as a determining factor a la Dwight Howard. They have to be telling them this is a try out for the 12th man spot

also allows us to load manage if we go after waiters
