**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

lol if Isaiah was so good back then Sac wouldn't have let him go for NOTHING. They thought they could easily replace him cuz he wasn't that good. They were wrong. They should've signed him long term and hoped it paid off.

Then PHX signed him for peanuts AND STILL traded him for NOTHING. They thought he wasn't that good either.

Don't be the team that gives up on a promising player because you have no patience.

D.Book and D'Lol aint eem in the same stratosphere honestly. Only thing they have in common is the D.

Paws.
We would still be losing even if we had booker instead of DLo though :lol
But yes right now Booker is mentally stronger and is more productive than DLo
We need a PG next season to challenge and motivate DLo

So you're saying DLo's skill set is comparable, if not better, than Thomas?

I won't even touch on the intangibles.

If only David Stern let us have Chris Paul....we wouldn't have a point guard problem.

My last sentence is pretty clear.
And my question to you is very clear. Your answer suggests you don't think DLo's skill set is anywhere near as good as Thomas.

There are little, if not zero, reasons why the Lakers should be patient with DLo because DLo has not shown us anything worthy to be patient for.

I'll bet ANYONE HERE a stack that if the Lakers trade DLo, he won't be an MVP candidate elsewhere.

Indeed.

What could've been.

Entirely possible to assume that we wouldn't have had any down period and free agents would've kept coming and the team would've kept competing andbeing respectable. Possibly no Kobe achilles injury. And Dwight not leaving with CP3 here to calm the tension between the 2. And guys wanting to play with CP3 and healthy Kobe and Healthy Dwight. No Steve Nash signing :smokin

Butter fly effect bros. 1 hateful act by that clown gilbert has ruined us going on 7 yrs now.

Yes. I think Dlo, right now, at age 20 is better than IT was as a sophmore at Udub.

Also, if Dlo does get traded, depending on the team that trades for him, I'd be willing to take the bet that he becomes a MVP candidate (like 5th-8th best candidate... IT prolly behind Russy, Harden, Bron, Wall, KD & Curry). Depending on the team I'll be happy to take that bet.

If we had CP3, Kobe would probably still be playing and we would've found a way to trade Howard for someone like Horford or Aldridge.

Imagine a team with CP3, Kobe, and Aldridge in 2014.

2013 def could've been a chip year with kobe having one of his best seasons ever. Just needed a better squad. Team could've been so legit.

When I say MVP candidate, I'm talking top 3 like Thomas is now. Right now, the top 3 MVP candidates being talked about are Westbrook, Harden, and Thomas.

Either way, ain't no way Russell cracks even top 15 or top 20. Dude is a stiff.

You put Russell on any playoff team and he'd be lucky to even be a third option.

lol D'Lol not that type of player bro. He's a point guard..in a league of killer pg talent. Highly doubt he ever even gets into the 2nd tier of pg's. I don't see him getting anywhere even near that discussion. Not gonna happen.

If only DLo had anything close to the skills, killer instinct, and mentality of Nick Van Exel....

And let me just clarify...if Brandon Ingram is averaging 7-8 ppg and 4 rebs this time next year, I'll be calling him out as well.

But something's telling me B.I. gonna damn near double those numbers because for one thing, he's a big time gym rat. First one there, last one out.

Secondly, he's super coachable and absorbs/receives constructive criticism very well. Thank Coach K for that one.

Lastly, dude ain't afraid to seek guidance from past Laker greats, which means he's dead serious about his game.

All of these factors can only lead to growth and success at the highest level.

D'Brandon D'Ingram bout to be D'Man on D'Lakers.

Nah BI is a project, he's not going to double his stats until he bulks up
But he's our best defender already
Like I said, gotta give the youngsters until year 3 to figure it out
Randle has actually been more disappointing to me than DLo

I can agree with Randle being more disappointing than Russell, especially since Randle imo has more upside than DLo.

But I disagree with you about B.I.

I think Ingram works his butt off this summer and is in the gym 10 hours a day every day, bulks up a bit, and I can realistically see him averaging anywhere between 12-14 ppg, 7 reb, 2 steals, and a block next season.

It took kawhi until year 3 to figure it all out, and that guy was a workout machine
Keep your expectations a little lower for BI
I think BI will get 9-12 ppg, 4-5 rpg though next season
The key will be how much stronger his body gets, which would help him be more confident driving to the hoop, and hitting wide open threes
I will predict by year 4 that BI will be a star...we just gotta be patient.

3-team trade:

Melo, Lou Will, and LAL's 2018 second rounder to Bulls

Butler and Jennings to LAL

Mozgov, Randle, DLo, Gibson's expiring contract, and Chi's 2017 1st or 2nd rounder to Knicks

So mighty Booker, playin a full 8 more minutes PER GAME, averages fewer rebounds, assists, steals, with more turnovers, and a lower PER than the "bum" that is DLo?

And even his true shooting percentage is lower? :lol

"superstar" "next"

"Bum" "Slow" "Bust"

Heh.

Heh.

Whoops had a dyslexic moment on TS%.

He has a .530 TS%, not .503. My bad

But even another point. Devin is significantly worse on defense.
