**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Booker is gone
Porzinzis and Myles Turner too

We coulda had them, but it's over, we have Dlo

The more important issue is Dlo's lack certain skills and abilities that modern PGs have that he WILL NOT develop with time, both mentally and physically

Lol you guys would be crying about Porzingis fouling out every game if he was on the lakers.

Related: it's a lot easier for a big man (see Zubac) to get acclimated quickly in the NBA than it is for a guard.

9. The fearlessness of Brandon Ingram

It has been a rough season for Ingram. He's shooting 36 percent, and just 30 percent on 3s. He hasn't cracked 20 points in a game yet. Most future franchise players don't start out this way. Some teenagers do, though. Check out Dirk Nowitzki's rookie numbers.

With that implausibly spindly body, Year 1 in the NBA was always going to be a tough. Good news: There are no outward signs that fear, panic, or insecurity have infected Ingram's game. He still plays with a calm confidence. He launches from deep when he's open, and dares to explore the possibilities of a pick-and-roll. He sees the floor well.

He hasn't cowered, or gone the opposite direction and pressed to justify his draft slot. He doesn't take bad shots, or rush into reckless drives ending in fancy no-look dishes. He just plays, and there is something refreshing in that for L.A. fans. Ingram may never be a star, but he should be a good player for a long time.

next game, pay attention to every move BI makes. On the first or second dribble as he drives , he gets bumped and it knocks him off balance, so he's forced to do a spin or pass or shoot an off balance shot. That's all lack of strength and that will change. The promising thing is that we've seen him show dunks in traffic, crossovers 30 feet from the bucket and hard drive to the rim, footwork in the post, coast to coast with the ball and finish at the rim, amazing passing, put back dunks, weak side blocks, on-ball blocks, high rebounds in traffic, steals and go coast to coast, etc. dude can play, just gotta get strong

geez
the last two pages were very cringeworthy
gonna be like walking on nails for the next 2 weeks

The "do it Mitch" only can be used for a few more months [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

Swaggy either wins by a landslide or embarrasses himself and the Lakers on Saturday night. No in-between.

Every player under 25 averaging 14ppg & 4.5apg:

-Kyrie
-Giannis
-DLo
-Schroder

Hope that one isn't too "advanced" for the usual suspects.

D,elusional PER don't mean anything that's why Walton takes him out he don't earn his playing time

You guys ever think that maybe Lou is just that good (albeit flawed) as opposed to D'Lo being that bad?

Don't hurt their heads man, you'll stress them out.

Real stats: Russell averaging 14.2- 3.8- 4.7 at 20... your starting PG, Kyle Lowry ain't put up those stats till his 7th year

Has nothing to do with it. DLo that type of mediocre employee who is simply content in putting in his minimum required 8 hours each day instead of being a high achiever and putting in the kind of time/overtime that is needed to satisfy the needs of the business.

Coaching staff sees this and is why DLo doesn't close out games. If you don't put in the work, you're gonna be mediocre when it's game time

Meanwhile, Ingram the gym rat is almost always the first player in practice and the last one out.

That's D'Difference

Or the fact that there isn't a good backup SF and there are 3 decent to good backup guards.

When your other choice is Luol Deng, you'll play Ingram. And if it was Deng or Russell, you'd play Russell always as well.

:lol at knowing who is the first and last in the gym. You don't know. And even if you did if Russell was 2nd in 2nd to last out then what... we've had this discussion last year and on a number of instances Lakers beat writers were saying Russell was staying after practice to work.
