Chances are likely, if the other team doesn't ask for too much (or Ingram). B.I. and Zubac would be the sticking points, obviously.
Let's read between the lines, shall we...
Carmelo Anthony said today when asked about the possibility he could be dealt: ""Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course," Anthony said. "I'm sure that I'll know, that I'll have information as it starts unfolding, if something unfolds. As of right now nothing is on the table right now." Meaning: Don't count it out that something can MAGICally unfold.
"Though his relationship with President of Basketball Operations Phil Jackson has been strained, Anthony said the Knicks know how he wants them to proceed in trade talks. ' I mean, I think as far as understanding, I think both parties are very much understanding of each other, myself and the front office, ' Anthony said. ' I think they know and understand how I feel and what I'm thinking, and I think I know what they're thinking. I try to figure that out. But those guys understand and know how I'm feeling, what's on my mind, and what I would like to see happen.' "
In other words, you can surmise that Melo stating both sides (he and Phil) understand each other and what each other wants means that Melo has already told Phil which team (city) he would waive his no-trade clause for and it's up to management to make the deal and contact him once the deal is finalized. This week, it's been reported, albeit quietly, that Melo's "preferred destination" is Los Angeles. Now is it the Lakers or the Clippers? I'd say it's probably the purple and gold, especially now that Magic is on board.
We'll see tomorrow.
