**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I guess Vogel will stick it out due to the lack of available quality coaches right now, but he needs to quit with the lineup experiments and just go with what works. It's evident at this point.

The Lakers' interest in Grant appears to be just that. A package of Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn likely won't pique Detroit's interest in this competitive market.

We can put the Grant to Lakers pipedream to bed.

Vogel ain't the answer at all. He's a decent coach, not great by any stretch. Fiz however, is a truly terrible one. I think Frank been on borrowed time, being so slow to act on obvious things (DJ) didn't help.

And that's the problem. He doesn't react to the obvious and sticks with what isn't working. It doesn't take 22 different starting lineups to figure out what works.

As much as I don't like Frank sometimes, firing him isn't gonna solve anything.

Plus who would you bring in now to fix this mess?

Might as well ride out with him this year, and start back channeling for a coach.

Still is crazy we are gonna fire a guy who won just 2 years ago.

I doubt he gets fired. Firing Vogle would be done with hope that we either will turn things around or shake up the roster to get better.

If neither happens we will have essentially done that for nothing and the FO will then be blamed. We should stick it out but afterwards, he can go.

First off, no 'one thing' is the answer. Getting rid of Rondo wasn't 'the' answer. Playing Bron at 5 isn't 'the' answer. There isn't one thing that's like, 'Do this thing and WIN A RING!'

But Vogel is a problem.

He SHOULD be on the hot seat. Trez & Kuz leave and go off. He barely used Trez, and constantly misused Kuz.

He barely uses DeAndre & Dwight, going with Bron at the 5 instead of actual 5s.

We've had lineups this year that should never, EVER happen unless a team is tanking. Rondo/Russ/Bradley/Melo/DJ. 😂

That chip in 2020? What happened years ago ain't got nothing to do with NOW.
- Bird got sick of his stagnant, nonsensical offensive lineups in Indy.
- Did BOOBOO w/ the Magic.
- Nobody wanted him for a year but he was a better option than effing Luke, who never should have been a coach.

I won't say it won't solve anything. If they've tuned him out and he can't push the right buttons, then having another voice in theory could work, see the Hawks from last season after firing Pierce. Most importantly though is AD's disposition/mindset when he returns.

He had Rondo, Russ and DJ on the floor multiple times and people are surprised that he's in the hot seat.

Trezz had a la carte all last season, was a defensive liability and got worn down by season's end. Kuz had every opportunity last season to make a dent and was MIA in the playoffs.

Deandre shouldn't even be on a NBA roster let alone getting minutes. The only reason he got minutes was because Ariza/THT (LOL) were out to start the season. Dwight should be a situational player because he's been creaky.
