Just looking at Free Agency, we likely should stand pat, and not make any big moves...
Russell
Clarkson / Nick (PO)
Ingram / Deng / Brewer
Randle / Nance
Moz / Black (Non-guaranteed) / Zu
11 players, $20.492 mil in cap space.
Let's look at some of the names....
Paul Milsap - Just turned 32, very intriguing, and a good fit, but 32, and over $20mil a season is a disastrous combination
Danilo Gallinari - Will be 29. Good fit. But has only played 2 seasons over 70 games in 9 seasons... Can't commit even $10mil to a guy like that, even if he's good.
Kentavious Caldwell Pope - Would love to have him, Pistons will match everything
Andre Iguodala - Too Old
Shaun Livingston - Too Old
Kevin Durant - Not happening
Steph Curry - Not happening
Chris Paul - Isn't leaving
JJ Redick - 33 next season, can't be giving him a 4 year deal
Greg Monroe - Bad fit
Derrick Rose - Too much injury history
Serge Ibaka - Not worth big money.. Also no idea how old he is, and his game has started to tail off slightly. Doesn't bode well long term.
Nerlens Noel - Dallas isn't trading for him to let him go
Alex Len - Bad fit, and would need to pay good money for him
Rudy Gay - Unless he's like $5-6mil, no thanks to an achilles guy
Pau Gasol - Way too old, and a bad fit
Kyle Lowry - It's not going to happen at all
Otto Porter Jr. - Great fit, young guy, good fit.. Washington will match everything..
James Johnson - Fun fit. But is 30, and looking for first real pay day.
What that leads you with is
Blake Griffin
Jrue Holiday
Darren Collison
Gordon Heyward
Blake not happening... Gordon Heyward not happening.
Leaves you with Jrue & Darren, not sure I'd commit big money to either. So it likely is the same team next year.
