Was it Russ who said he don’t have any friends in the league and his only one is Spalding? Like that had to be 1000% true… the decline is hitting him hard this season and opposing players and fans are on his head hard.
If he was a more likable player I’d almost feel bad for him but since he’s done his fair share of taunting/trash talking it’s like what goes around comes around. The bad karma with him just affects the entire time… a lot of guys want to embarrass him and unfortunately the whole squad is on the receiving end as well.
Oh well, only a handful more of these games left

This is how I think all NBA players should think about what fans have to them...
...but just dont say it out loud that's all. Not sure why KD went off on dude like that Trash talking is a part of any competitive sport...had all kinda guys talk hella trash to me over the years, never gave a damn what any of them had to say. Now when you're getting your tail busted and they talk trash? Just gotta eat it, but still it's not something that you should really care all about that much. If you got ran because YOU stunk up the joint that's all the motivation you should need to play better, not taunting from your opponent.

I do feel kinda bad for Russ tho just as a fellow human being. He's gotta be mentally ****** at this point. You can try to act like none of this **** bothers you but coming back to your hometown and the whole city turning on you has to have an impact

At the end of the day it was always going to be a bad fit with RW, the team has struggled and fair or unfair most of the attention is on him.
My only thing is dude, you can still do other things to make up for your offensive struggles (and he does at times with playmaking and effort, on offense) but can't just be a total non-factor on offense. I mean he's gotten this far in the league...top 75, MVP, etc playing a certain way and change isn't just going to happen overnight. Look at Melo, took him being out the league a few years to really get it. Hard to say if that's even a possibility for Russ, since so much of his game just relies on his athleticism.

It sounds like the same thing that happened to Lebron at Crypto that one game...I'm guessing they took it like fans are trying to tell them what to do or how to play...like KD had no idea what to do until this random Joe gave him some guidance LOL

Poor lebron. Let’s all sympathize with him and his agency. None of this is his fault. He didn’t know who Russ was.
