**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Think Josh Richardson would be a decent return for Pat Beverley. He's a bit shorter than I would prefer at 6'6, but he's a decent shooter (35% from three this season, 36% for career), can handle the ball a bit and defends. In a way, he's almost like a seasoned Austin Reaves. :lol

The Spurs also released Gorgui Dieng the other day. If they're gonna work out Cousins and Zeller, they should give Dieng a look. He probably has more in the tank on defense than Cousins, and can space the floor unlike Zeller.

I'm surprised noone has made a move for JRich or Poetl yet. No way they stay in SAS past the deadline.

Another offseason Russ deal that plugs holes. :smh: You could probably get JRich/McDermott/Poetl for Russ and a 1st at the deadline still.

Beverly/Nunn + pick was pretty much always the realistic deal to make, but thing is what does that net in return. The pick is by far the most valuable piece.

Brosizzle I need to re-up

I understand that you might be kidding.

HOWEVA...

In the event that you're not: It's not that these scrappy players are THE difference between winning it all or not. It's that they are A difference, just like I talk about coaching and role players and rim presence. When people say something like 'Wait so you think we NEED a Thomas Bryant to win a championship?', it's frustrating, because it's not that Thomas Bryant is Shaq, obviously. But Brook Lopez is a champion, and contributed. Like it's not that a good coach is THE difference, nor is it that these scrappy players are THE difference, nor is it that backup rim presence is THE difference. It's that all these things together ALONG with star power make a helluva problem for opponents.

Or you might have just been joking. 😂😬
It baffles me that to this day, fans still don't understand the importance of what Shaq calls "The Others."

There are role players who are masters at their role who play with a purpose and hence contribute to championship success; and there are role players who are only there to collect a check. We see this everyday in the workplace

As someone that has followed Josh Richardson most his career, I'm good.
Dude makes terrible decisions and falls apart in the 4th quarter/crunch time. I've seen him singlehandedly lose too many games

Team will keep Russ past deadline and resign him using bird rights for 10 mill

Rumors are JC and Miles Turner have turned down extension offers....

Turner of course actually fills a need but can he be had for 1 FRP?

JC would be nice but once again giving up assets for guys that could walk for nothing has already hurt us.

would not give up a first round pick for a rental unless they put protection on the pick.

is jc jordan clarkson? have no interest in jordan clarkson whatsoever.

As much as I ***** about Brick, the team needs his playmaking and rebounding. And he's frankly been a better 1 on 1 defender on big wings than Beverley.
team brickhouse?

westbrook this year compared to last year is pretty amazing

frank vogel must have been a real *** hole to play for

Why would the Lakers trade for another guard when they have a roster full of them?

These trade rumors/suggestions ain’t making any sense.

If Lakers make a trade that improves the team, it will be for players whose contracts expire because Jeanie don't want to take back any salary unless it's for a star (i.e., Kyrie, Beal, Lavine).

That's how I'm looking at it.

Having said that, Turner is the best possible candidate to improve the team for the stretch run cause his salary expires at the end of this season. Another one could be Mo Bamba, who has two years left on his deal that pays him $10 mil but 2nd year is non-guaranteed.

Bogdanovic, Hield, Anunoby, Kuzma, and all the rest of these players being rumored ALL have contracts extending past next season. Which means Lakers ain't trading for em cause none are brand name stars.

And is also why they are only truly considering bringing in guys like Sterling Brown, Dorset, and Boogie cause they'd all be 6 month rentals

Imagine still following laker rumors on a day to day basis.

You guys must last forever in bed.
