1. We get pieces that help us now
2. We get pieces that we can use as assets in future trades
3. Russell is an expiring so we can still pivot in the offseason if we need to
4. The draft pick is protected (I would imagine that it's top three protected) so if we really do bottom out and end up as one of the worst teams in the league in the future, we might still be able to keep our pick
5. We get Brick off the roster

IMO Rob's job should hinge on this season right now. So if he can make the deal with Toronto and bring new life back to Bron/AD and try to make a run, do it.
