**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Just a quick note of Kyrie Irving talks for the off-season.

The Lakers can’t quite get to the four-year, $210 million max deal he would be eligible for outside of Dallas, but they can pay him north of $30 million per year.

If you think Kyrie will leave $70-80mil on the table on top of what he’d leave on the table leaving Dallas, you haven’t followed Kyrie for too long.

Who's saying Dallas is going to give him a 4 year deal though?

4 years $210mil is what every non-Dallas team can offer him.

These are the teams that can get close to that number...

Houston Rockets - $59.3 million.
Indiana Pacers - $49.8 million.
San Antonio Spurs - $47.1 million.
Detroit Pistons - $44.8 million.
Utah Jazz - $42.6 million.

Myrie is going to one of those teams? C'mon son. It's going to be Dallas if they do a long term extension or LA. If it's 2 years in DAL vs 2 years in LA, makes the decision a lot simpler.

Bron is going to push heavy for him mans was on the recruitment trail something serious this weekend.

So he’s going to pass on $50mil a year for $30mil a year. Whether it’s 2 years or 4 years? Come on man.

Also, yes. Kyrie would sign with any team who gives him a max deal if nobody else does.

And that $30mil a year is if the Lakers drop everybody but LeBron and AD

And because LeBron shook the guys hand because he’s friends with him, that was recruiting. He had a conversation with Dame. Must have been trying to recruit him too. He picked Jokic, must’ve been recruiting him too. Picked Anthony Edwards first in the reserves, must have been looking to get him.

Also LeBron can recruit who he wants, doesn’t mean the Lakers will care to deal with the headache that is Kyrie.

Cuban won’t do him favors either.

Bron been trying to get dude here for over a year now. The Lakers have made moves to have a shot.

Just don't get to attached broski. May be a short stint for you and ya boy D'Lo back in Lakerland.

Every one. Every single place. Everywhere.

They didn’t trade for him to rent him.

The Nets even offered him 4 years. The reason he isn’t a Net for the next 4 years is they had stipulations to the 4 years that Kyrie didn’t want.

everything depends on how far this group makes it in the playoffs if they even get to the playoffs. so thinking about what the lakers do in the offseason should be the last thing to worry about.

If that was the case there would have been way more teams interested in him than the 3 that were in trading for him cause they'd have his rights. A 4 year contract with stipulations isn't a 4 year contract.

If this squad flames out which is entirely possible, there's no attachment to keep any of the new acquisitions.

Your question was who said the Mavs will offer him a 4 year deal. I said everyone has said they would. And no one has said they wouldn’t.
They actually have more incentive to offer him a max at 5 years than they do to give him any reason to walk.

If they don’t offer him a max, it’s because Kyrie was a colossal failure in the locker room with a top 5 player (twice in 1 year), and that would likely give the Lakers some pause to commit to him. It should give you some pause too.
It wasn’t even a smooth ride with LeBron years ago. Now it’s not some young star, it’s an aging star with significant baggage.
