Or Lakers match a 4 year $80mil where he’s paid $11-12mil year 1 & 2. Then $27&$29mil year 3 and 4.
I very much doubt Reaves leaves for an extra couple mil, which would put teams on the burner to give him the full $80mil for him to consider leaving.
I’d say there’s 6 guys who have a significantly big chance (75% or better) to be on the team next year.

Jeanie being cheap might actually come in handy. Teams will think twice about giving Reaves a poison pill since they'll actually have to pay all that money to a bench player when the Lakers let him walk

So no matter what the next two seasons the highest he can get is 12 mil. Years 3-4 other teams can offer whatever they want, the max for a 4 year player. The Lakers can match that if they choose… so that’s where the 4 year/$80 mil figure comes from

If another team offers Reaves something like four years-$60M and the Lakers match, instead of getting a starting salary of $14-15M a year it would be capped at $11-12M the first two years. But then the final two years would be jacked up.
