**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Great response game by Rui and DLo
Great game by Bron, AD and AR

Interested to see what some of these lineups graded out as.

Way to be a pro DLo… starting is overrated, just be productive in the minutes you’re in the game.

Honestly. I was worried he’d look like ****.

Found his shot last game in the 4th after a couple weeks where he just didn’t have a shot. Then moves to the bench could screw up any momentum.

It could always only go one of two ways… but that really sums up the DLo experience for me. You never know what to expect, it could be good or it could just as easily be a clusterfunk.

Can you think of any contender/champion that has/had a starter whereas you don’t know what you’re going to get from them on a nightly basis? It’s almost unheard at the point guard position…especially in this era.

I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as you are making it. I get what you’re saying.

But

It’s far less often a cluster than it is good.

For example through November he was shooting 49/40. Lowest turnovers of his career.
And in December over 10 games including the IST championship, there’s 4 or 5 quality games. Rest are bad. But the team as a whole has looked like **** too.

At times he’s in a can’t win. Because of what his game looks like rather than what it actually is.

Great win

Hard to lose when Lebron goes 5-5 from deep

Problem is he’s a streaky shooter and can just as easily for 1-7 next game

Overall, this is how good we can be when everyone makes shots

Now let’s beat those ugly green uniform clowns

I’m not saying it’s more of anything than the other…

It’s less about stats with DLo to me, more about skill set and tendencies.

The starting lineup shot 38% from the field. 2-4 from 3 50% 6-6 from FT in 10 minutes. 24 points.

The OKC starting lineup has 24 points in 11 minutes.
2/13 from 3. 4/7 from FT

Not sure how I feel about that lineup against a more experienced team.

So the Bron lineup worked

It Did because Bron was focused & wanted this game, meaning he was there on defense on on his A game offensively. IDK if that viable long term but it was a good adjustment for this game. Vando is (especially not at 100%) is pretty much useless if he isn't expending 15-20 minutes harassing's the teams best ball handlers & getting them out of rhythm.

speaking of which, I think that Gabe trade really makes a D'Lo trade less likely because you almost certainly have to bring back a guard who can shoot & playmake, time to call up our good G-League affiliates the Wizards. They still owe us from Westbrook man

Take Gabe/JHS/Wood & 2 seconds in return for Gafford & Delon Wright.

Wright hasn't really played all season either but when healthy he's very similar to Gabe's role & the main point of the trade would be Gafford. He is a PERFECT REALISTIC fit next to AD. can't stretch the floor but he's great on the boards, Good rim protection & a hell of a rim runner/ transition guy. He's basically what we hoped jaxon Hayes would be.

Also opens up another roster spot

Don’t care about who starts but the change basically shifted less minutes for DLo, Prince, Cam and opened up more minutes for Vando and Rui. Austin pretty much remained the same, maybe he plays more if he wasn’t in early foul trouble.

EYE don’t think Ham knows what he’s doing. Got lucky tonight but unless he plays the 6’9 and above lineup of Hayes at the 5, AD at the 4, Wood at the 3, Vando at the 2 and Magic LBJ at the point this team won’t even make it to the play in.

New lineup is big, long, better defense. Basically just Bron/AD run the offense with 3 defensive-minded guys. Would still rather have Wood take Hayes minutes

That Bonus part isn’t totally accurate. It’s the best 10 minute lineup, but isn’t the best lineup they ran out of the 15 lineups, it was 6th in net rating.

They ran 2 lineups 10 minutes
2 lineups 4 minutes
3 lineups 3 minutes
5 lineups 2 minutes
3 lineups 1 minute

That Reaves/Reddish/Rui/Bron/AD lineup was the best of the 10 minutes at +18 rating

4 minute lineups DLo/Prince/Vanderbilt/Bron/Hayes was +77 rating

3 minute Reaves/Reddish/Prince/Rui/AD +19

2 minute lineup DLo/AR/Reddish/Rui/AD +75

Besides the point. That starting lineup while it didn’t work and didn’t not work. Looks like it would have issues with a more experienced team. Sure, the Thunder are good. But they are young with a young head coach. And the paint was always packed. Bron and AD needed to be almost perfect for it to not be rough. And even then, they can only do so much.

Wild taking 1 game, 10 minute sample size and trying to extrapolate with that. Need the same breakdown of the previous starting lineup when they put up 4 straight losses for reference
