If Lakers lose again tonight against the lowly Blazers, Ham will definitely be on the hot seat no matter how he says the ownership supports him. Except for Cam and TP, I dont think anybody on the squad likes or respect Ham much as a coach/leader, including LeBron and AD.

Ntm this is the same coach who said he wanted AD shooting 6 threes per game lol

I don’t care how good Vando’s defense might be… he’s a zero on offense and not a starting caliber player in the modern NBA. And at the same time I get it, he almost has to start on this team because almost none of their perimeter defenders can stay in front of anyone.

This is a winnable game. But im willing to bet they’ll sit out AD and/or Bron to rest and put them back on tuesday to play 44 minutes in a blowout loss

The hell did Ham do in his playing career besides break a backboard? Dude was a lifelong 10-12th man.

At least ex role players-turned-head-coaches such as Phil Jackson, Steve Kerr, Pat Riley, and Doc Rivers were all actually really good role players who played significant minutes on the respective teams they played for

You know who else runs a drop coverage? At least half of the league at times… like one of the reasons Boston lost the finals against GS is because they ran drop against the Curry pick and roll. Of course we can talk about why run drop but that would be rational and boring I guess.

Bottom line the puzzle that Ham and staff seems to be trying to figure out is how to find balance with a roster full of specialists…not to mention roster politics.

He’s a fringe NBA player, DLo and Austin are better suited as 6th men and Vando/Rui/Wood are 7th or 8th men.

Funny. Theyre the same age and size, but Cam is 100% perimeter oriented and Vando is a big.


Regardless, if either could actually shoot even close to league average, from anywhere on the court, they'd be incredibly valuable pieces.

This underachieving Lakers ORGANIZATION is gonna make a trade or two to improve the roster (On Paper), they will keep Darvin Ham, and then the fanbase will wonder so cluelessly at the end of the season why they didn't advance anywhere close to the WCF.

So facts are now excuses? I laughed at a video posted complaining about drop coverage…which is a pretty common way of defending the pick and roll, especially when the Lakers shouldn’t want to switch. I mean they should want to keep AD close to the basket, and since analytics say the midrange is the worst shot in basketball go ahead and concede those. And on top of that, it wasn’t the midrange jumpers that Nets feasted on…it was points in the paint, like straight line drives to the basket.

You can go H O H all ya want but it helps if it’s at least credible things to complain about…like the lack of play calling, silly challenges, etc. Are we going to complain if today they decide to switch everything on ball screens? Maybe you should be more upset about the bArBecue backcourt or Weekend at LeBernies defense instead

Lakers nation podcast said Dejounte is currently a bottom 5 guard defender in the NBA. Is that true?

He certainly hasn’t been good.

I don’t know about top 5 worst. But he’s worse than both guards on the team now. Statistically.

And a large reason why the Hawks are moving on. Because even if he’s been better than stats/results, he’s been really bad on that end. Amongst a myriad of other reasons.
