Because of those 2?Recap, you were mentioning this was a Top 10 duo and breaking them up is lunacy.
I countered that we should have already done it, much less run it again next year.
2021 Playin team
2022 Missed playoffs
2023 Playin team
2024 Playin team
This power duo been so dominant that the last FOUR YEARS we've been a playin team. Not a 1 seed, or 2-3-4-5-6, but playin. (Or missed altogether during the Russ year).
Now they are even older and cost even more money.
This year Bron/AD = 87 mil.
Next year Bron/AD = 95 mil.
Age 40, and 32.
Ages 39/31, 38/30, 37/29, and 36/28 bested out at playin team. (When they were even cheaper, mind you)
Do you know what the definition of NBA insanity is? Trying to build around the same aging duo 5 years in a row expecting different results.
If Bron/AD were 32/24, I'd run that **** back without so much as a whimper.
95 mil, age 40/32?
FYI, Jokic/Murray 87 mil next year. Ages 30/28.
Oh, and Bron/AD gonna play in the Olympics this summer, rather than rest.
So next year we need them to survive another 6 month regular season + 3 month postseason. Older, and more expensive than the last 4 years.....where they were not enough.
And if they trade for Trae Young.......
You forgot the most obvious answer at #1In order of why we lost, in my opinion:
1. Nuggets. They're better. Simple.
2. Laker turnovers (goes back to #1).
3. Clumsy Laker offense (again: see #1).
4. Rui & AR providing NOTHING.
5. All Lakers not named Bron playing hesitant/scared down the stretch.
6. Pelinka.
I don't know if this is a good sign or bad sign but I can't really blame him.
Because of those 2?
Or because of horrible roster construction?
(Because of horrible roster construction.)
Pelinka & Co. don't address needs; they just sign names. We could have Kiwi & PG as our franchise guys, and we'd be just as frustrated if we signed every guard in the league and 'Wait, who?' bigs who are injured a lot.
Impacts? Yes. Handcuffs? No.You don't feel that 95 million kind of impacts how you can build the rest of your roster?
Especially when I show you that Jokic/Murray are both younger AND cheaper??????
Something in the Lakers direct control? You forgot the most obvious answer at #1
Oh yes, something that's in direct control of the Lakers.Something in the Lakers direct control?
The only thing I listed that is not in the Lakers direct control is #1, and that's why it's #1.
Impacts? Yes. Handcuffs? No.
He gutted a championship team and has been scrambling to make up for it ever since.
I don't know if this is a good sign or bad sign but I can't really blame him.
I don't remember them pushing "Yay! We won! Now get rid of everyone except us, please & thanks."You remember who pushed for that gutting?
The two guys that "need more help" right now.
