According to clarkson he's been working on his 3 ball. Also said julius is a stretch 4 now fwiw

What are those two thinking? They'll get benched by Byron for shooting threes.

Winners

Los Angeles Lakers

You heard me.

Lakers fans took a hit on Wednesday. The team was mocked endlessly after Aldridge dismissed the team’s interaction with the free agent, with Kobe Bryant, the front office, or the team’s recent repellent history being blamed for the lack of interest on LaMarcus’ part. A second meeting, pitched on Thursday, didn’t seem to change the narrative.

As it stands, for the third season in a row, the Lakers will have lost out in their attempts to convince a superstar free agent to join Bryant and company. The Lakers will still have cap space in order to trade for helpers – Roy Hibbert’s already in place and they could glom onto a series of mid-level types – but they will once again enter a season hoping Kobe doesn’t decide to shoot 25 times at 37 percent while also hoping that he’ll finish what could be his last season in active uniform. Bryant’s last three campaigns were ended by major season-ending injuries.

Laker fans. Listen to me. This is what you want.

Where did you think you were going with a 30-year old LaMarcus Aldridge, Kobe on no legs and one arm, and a 19-year old point guard? Why would you think this would be anything more than a 30 win team in the West? Why in the hell would Kevin Durant leave Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka behind to join 31-year old LaMarcus Aldridge, 20-year old D’Angelo Russell, and a power forward in Julius Randle that plays the same position as LaMarcus?

On top of that, if the Lakers fall out of the top three in the lottery next season, the team’s first-round draft pick goes to Philadelphia. Wouldn’t the whole point of signing an Aldridge basically gift Philly that draft pick?

This is the West. The Thunder had Russell Westbrook playing at an MVP level for a heavy chunk of the season, it had Kevin Durant for long enough and Ibaka for even longer and it still missed the playoffs with 45 wins. Did you really think adding LaMarcus Aldridge, Russell, and 37-year old Kobe was going to make the difference between 21 and 46 wins? With Byron Scott coaching? Come on.

This offseason did you a favor, Laker fans.

You’re going to have to be terrible again, in 2015-16. You’re going to have to put up with Time Warner Cable and whatever Carlos Boozer-types the team hires for a single year. It’s going to be awful to watch Kobe go out this way, but this is what YouTube is for.

(And, seriously: Last year you signed Carlos Boozer. This year you traded absolutely nothing for Roy Hibbert. I’d say things are looking up.)

You’ll then get to enter the 2016 offseason with Randle, with Russell, with another high end draft pick should the lottery go your way, and possibly more cap space than any other team. And all that, “Los Angeles as a draw doesn’t matter anymore”-nonsense that was batted around in the summer of 2015 will be stomped to pieces in the summer of 2016. Los Angeles will always be a draw, and there’s a reason why Aldridge gave your crappy 21-win team two visits before deciding on San Antonio.

Just hope that your ownership group and front office takes this summer as a lesson.

Interesting.

Lakers are losers until further notice, i hate people jumping the gun man.

Has dis been posted yet?

(Someone embed)

If the math works, the Lakers should send Hill, Swaggy and Wes to the Clippers, Crawford to the Cavs and Haywood to the Lakers, who would then be waived.

how would this work? do the lakers still have the bird rights to hill after not picking up his team option and removing his cap hold on the team?

Y'all we might have messed around and stumbled on some bonafied gems.

All I need to happen is:
D'angelo Russel = Chris Paul
Jordan Clarkson = Monta Ellis
Julius Randle = Lamar Odom
Robert Upshaw = Dikembe Mutumbo

:lol in 3-4 years it can happen right :lol

100% can happen

We need to clear this roster quite a bit. We have 15 guys, and need to fill quite a few roster holes.

Candidates

-Jabari Brown... When is he ever going to play?
-Ryan Kelly because Bass means he'll never play, and we drafted Nance in the 1st round, so he has a guaranteed contract. He basically was drafted to replace Ryan Kelly.
-Robert Sacre... I love Rob. Just he serves no purpose, especially with Hibbert, Black & Upshaw
-Nick Young... I don't want to get rid of him, but if you're so hell bent on getting rid of him as a FA, you might as well, let him go to a new situation, rather than one where you basically say you don't have faith in him when he wants to be here, took a paycut, and actually cares about everything Lakers.
-Tarik Black... I like him. But don't see him being on this team for more than just this season. A RFA at a time where the cap explodes an extra $30mil and every team has cap space. Best to sell, get the asset for him. Rather than having to commit $8mil to him in RFA when you know Clarkson is going to be way over $10mil. He'll never be a starter. His ceiling is what Jordan Hill is. Energy man who is good at rebounding.

At least 4 of those 5 names need to be gone.. Tarik Black too if that S&T with Dallas could net us Justin Anderson, were it to happen.

We need a backup SF, since I guess Kobe is the starting SF. Dorell Wright this could finally be the time you end up with the Lakers after years of suggesting you. Didn't even know he was from LA 8o

Kelly Sacre and Young are all on the trading block. Thank god for that. Also Lin, Boozer and Wes Johnson won't be coming back either. Basically all of the players that sucked *** won't be returning. :)
