Yea he was but it wasn't the Princeton.
All I'm saying is if the Lakers was gonna make the "New School" player you can't keep the "Old School" coach. It's just conflicting. Especially with that slow and methodical Princeton.
Things need to be sped up with quick hitting options in the shot clock. By the time the Lakers get their first look at the basket 10 seconds are already off the **** clock.
And this is what I viewed all last year. Struggling to get to 95 points
Pick and Roll teams don't fair too well (Clippers) especially in the playoffs (Suns). To think Byron Scott is saying "Yea we gonna walk the ball up and make 10 passes before we shoot" is foolish.
The team you watched last year isn't even as talented as the SL team this year
For a fairer comparison, rematch the third qtr of this game. It was the princeton offense, but more so of Clarkson controlling and running it. He attacked the defense, got guys open looks, pushed in transition, and when he had spacing on the floor he called a screen and created off of that. All things I'm sure DLo will become more comfortable doing as the season progresses. I think putting DLo in system where he just pick n rolls all game hurts his growth more in the long run. The Princeton like any other motion offense is based on reading defenses rather than getting in a set and running plays off of that. It'll come with time. I don't see anybody complaining about the Spurs offense after they got al their pieces. People use to say they was boring and this and that but now everyone loves that style of play
