I rep'd u
We need more people like u in here. Less warrior talk (they'll always suck) and less robin thicke (one of the "kings" peasants. Just be ready to throw out all that heat gear and cop some cavs/bulls/clippers/ every other team not named Lakers gear
Thanks man. He's just proven to be such a disappointment for me. His talent is off the charts, top five ABILITY player all-time. Easily. Love the way he can be versatile enough to be a passer, or a scorer, and also a defender. He's like a melting pot of Magic, Pippen, Bird, Penny, and a dash of MJ. But the lack of true character, competitveness, and intangibles is alarming to me.
Also the trend he's created within the basketball community, and young fans. When you go to the park, before LeBron did you ever see the 2x best players wanting to play with each other? No they each captained their own team, to face each other.
Sports are literally about competition. The road, struggle, obstacles overcome is what defines the success. The Bad Boy Pistons molded MJ, Pippen, and the young Bulls into a mentally tough unit that was able to win 6 championships. They didn't cowardly bail after losing in 3x consecutive seasons, they stuck it out, got better, dealt the chips they were given and overcame. They earned their glory. That's why we celebrated them, and they were actually loved.
The way LeBron colluded. Cowardly quit on his team in the 2010 ECSF in a winnable series, where they were actually favorites. That Cavs team didn't have a legit sidekick for him, but they were built perfectly to show case his talents. All he needed was for Mo not to disappear in the conference finals, or maybe bring in one more piece. Playing in his hometown. He had a legacy, game, and narrative that was in front of him that would've possibly put him on Jordan's level.
Instead he pusses out, jumps ship. Stacks the competitive deck, in an already weak eastern conference. Brags about winning 5, 6, or 7 championships. Then in their very first Finals, he quits on the team, who once again were overwhelming favorites. Only needed him to play to average levels to win, and he dramatically underperforms. Goes Patrick Swyaze in crunch time. Gets out played by Jason Terry, locked up by super old Shawn Marion, and Jason Kidd. Marion puts a spin move, hook shot on him then calls him a ***** ON NATIONAL TV !!!
Could you imagine someone doing that to Jordan? He'd have dropped 60 on them the very next game, talking the meanest **** to them the entire time. Yet this guy is supposed to be the Jordan of our era?
Skates by to a ring in a shortened season in 2012 which benefits youthful, athletic teams like the Heat / Thunder. Having an unfair advantage from the start. It's also the season where the Bulls, their one true conference obstacle lose their MVP D. Rose to a career threatning injury. They dilly **** around and get taken the distance by a young Pacers team, and a super old Boston team that they dispatched in 5 games the previous season.
In 2013 they have a great regular season. Wade gets injured to end the season. LeBron shoots 56% for the regular season, then the playoffs hit and his percentage drops 10%. While not increasing his volume scoring against absurdly terrible competition: the Bucks, the Bulls (sans Rose, Hinrich, Deng) ... get taken the distance by the Pacers again. Who didn't even win 50 games.
They should've lost the 2013 Finals. LeBron, once again goes into shook mode. Not confident in his jumper, as Boris Diaw plays way off him the entire series and Pops dares LeBron to shoot. He manages to not make them pay the entire series. Wade wins them a piviotl game 4 in San Antonio while LeBron stat pads in garbage time. Ray Allen proceeds to save Miami, and LeBron's legacy after a lucky bounce his way ... and one of the most epic, iconic, clutch shots in NBA history.
Game 7? Old AF Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker choke ... they continue to let LeBron shoot wide open jumpers. He finally makes the right basketball decision to not overthink, and just merc them with the wide open jumpers. Heat win a lucky come back series. Bron, apart from game 7, in actual context ... not all that spectacular.
For comparison sake. In the 1992 Finals, the Blazers dared MJ to shoot 3s saying he couldn't hit them consistently. Drexler specifically bragging how much better of a shooter he was. What did MJ do?
Nothing but hit 6 3's in a half, score 35 points in 15 minutes (sitting out half the 2nd quarter) ... was on pace if the game wasn't a blow out to basically scoring near 70 points in an NBA Finals game against the closest contemporary at his position, and runner up MVP (Clyde Drexler) ... basically sodomized him in front of the world in game 1.
Stuff of LEGEND.
Then this year, LeBron gets cramps in game 1. Has an epic game 2, scoring 35 providing Miami the volume scoring they need to win the series to compensate for Wade's lack of offensive production. Game 3? Starts out hot, then inexplicably goes into passive mode. K. Leonard, the other team's 4th option outplays him. Never turns on the scoring jets to stop the bleeding. Game 4? Has a great 3rd quarter, but was CASPER the rest of the game.
Then after game 4 does a press conference where he passive-aggressively, very feminine / child like shrugs off the losing. "It's just basketball man" ... if it's that insiginificant to you, how do you expect your troops to be motivated and follow you LeBron? Could you ever in a million years picture Jordan doing something this soft?
Hell, at 35 years old in 1998. After finally appearing mortal. Looking fatigues, no hops, no legs, no wind. The Bulls lose game 6, and are facing elimination v.s. the Pacers. He guarantees victory the next game. Could you ever picture him shrugging off the innate competitiveness calling basketball "just a game" as if just because he's ready to lose, it's no big deal? That's something a pitiful kid does when you're beating them in video games you know they want to win. Pathetic.
He has an amazing 1st quarter, then once again goes into passive mode. Letting the Spurs destroy them without much of a fight. Basically quits on them again, just like he did in 2011. At least this time they were the underdogs, so it's slightly less excusable.
3 peating is about mental toughness. It reveals character, especially as leader. What did MJ do to capitalize the first 3 peat since Russell's Celtics in 1993? Oh he only led the Bulls back from an 0-2 deficit against a top ten defense of all-time, and a 60+ win team in his own conference. Pat Riley's Knicks. At one point dropping 54 on them.
Then in the Finals, faced the MVP, CB34, the team of destiny. Stacked deep with offensive talent. The most prolific team in the league. So what does MJ do to account for the fact his team isn't as talented? He RAISES his game beyond his normal elite standards.
Scores 55, w/ a game winner. Drops 41 ppg, 9 rpg, 6 apg for the series. LEGEND.
Now, LeBron is ready to take the easy way out YET again? He doesn't realize it's about how you win, not how many you win. He wants to do it the easy way. That's why he went to Miami. He's a bully, a front runner, a coward. Guy grows up in Cleveland yet rooted for the following: Yankees, Bulls, and Cowboys. All 90s power houses. He doesn't want to do the unthinkable. He doesn't want to be the legend to slay the superior dragon. He wants to play WITH the Monstars and enslave humanity.
He's a coward. His fans actually have the AUDACITY to want him to hop teams yet again to stack the talent deck once more? You serious? That's actually respectable to today's youth? People acting like he didn't have absurd amounts of help in Miami to begin with, playing in an absolutely atrocious, injury riddled conference. Cake walks to Finals appearances. It wasn't just Wade, Bosh, and co disappointing. LeBron didn't play to his maximum capabilities either.
We should have seen demeanor, ability, and aggression like game 6 v.s. Boston multipe times in both 2013, and 2014 playoffs. But nope, nonexistent.
If this guy goes somewhere else again, he's a bigger clown then I even thought in 2010. How can anyone root for this guy? I like his game. But his mentality, lack of heart, character, will power, and intangibles is utterly disgusting. He probably will leave. Like his Nike commercial said:
"Do I have to remind you I've done this before"
LeBron is all about himself. He's a different kind of selfish to say Kobe. Kobe plays the game selfishly, LeBron is literally a selfish person. It's all about his perceived image. Thus the need to stack the deck with talent so he can win rings as easily as possible. LeCowardly Lion. And people have the nerve to call him this generation's Jordan. More like a Bill Gates version of Scottie Pippen in my book.
