i love these. i can see an influence from the aj12 from the side view, and almost the same toe box color blocking as the lbj3s.

I don't think so. The hug system was to pull the straps in the front, back. The back stays in place.

I'm thinking the heal strap could be for ankle support since alot of ankle support come from the heal of the shoe.
