Derozan is getting the max no doubt. 20+ teams have max slots this off season and you have to spend.

Who do you guys want if you don't want DD here. If you're going to slander DD which is warranted you have to slander Bazemore for his awful playoff performances as well. Baze will get a lofty contract as well.

Whiteside is a huge question mark and he should get slandered for his playoff performance as well, especially this series. The guy's effort has been questionable, never wants to really leave the paint, and gets abused on the pick and roll. Oh and even though the game isn't played like this anymore one on one against other bigs he seems to get lost.

This off season is filled with flawed players. Who do you spend money on then?

Who to spend money on:

KD-(obvious)
Horford-(versatile big man, good defensively, gaping hole at C)
Whiteside-(rebound and shot block, still learning the game, gaping hole at center)
Batum-(versatile wing player, good defender, didn't need the ball to be effective, gaping hole at SF)
Harrison Barnes- see Batum description, slightly lesser version
Festus Ezili- see Whiteside description, lesser version
Joakim Noah- see Horford description, approaching washed version possibly, proceed with caution
Kent Bazemore- same with see Barnes

Who not to spend money on:
Derozan-(one dimensional player not at a need position, that will take the ball out of the hands of the young guys)
Mo Speights (one dimensional player)
Roy Hibbert (supreme bum)

Spend good money to lock in guys who can be 4-8th man on the roster, get close to .500. Build it, and they will come.

The list of who to spend money on is filled with players that probably stay on their respective teams. And if not they'll have a myriad of options since everyone has money. Noah is probably the most attainable and that's not a player I'd go after u less you want to give him that one year place holder contract.

Probably give Noah a Rondo special. Two years with a player option after year one to rebuild his value.

Sorry, no more rebuilding value guys here. We sucked cause we tried big money on hibbert and lin. If they don't pan out, we end up the 2nd worst team.If anything, the opposite. Two years, TEAM option if you have to.

Very attainable:
Whiteside
Bazemore
Noah
Derozan & Hibbert (unfortunately)

Less likely:
Horford
Barnes & Festus (dependent on if GS pursues KD one or both may have to be let go as UFAs)

Likely staying:
Batum

Longest shot:
KD

Outside look on things if you guys got the pick 1-2 what would that fetch in comparison to pick 3?

Fetch in what sense? In a trade? A lot more considering Simmons & Ingram are head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the class in a pretty weak draft overall.

yeah that's what im saying the drop is significant, let's say pick 1-2 nets Andrew Wiggins hypothetically, what would pick 3 get you?

Do people here actually want Al Horford?  The dude is garbage.  I don't want a guy who is going to inefficiently shoot a lot of long 2's.  That is what Randle is here for.

This year, unless someone is really desperate maybe a Zach Levine caliber guy abs even that may be a reach.

Except this is inaccurate. Horford had an EFG% on jumpers of 50%, Julius was at 30%. Plus he is a good defender and rebounder and great in pick and roll situations, but is also a guy who can be effective when he's not scoring. And is the quintessential small ball C in today's NBA.

He plays in slow motion to me he solid but never been a beast IMO

Horford has always been a more cerebral player than one that wows you with athleticism. Make no mistake though that's a great thing especially as he gets older, translates perfectly, great character guy too (if you're worried about the knucklehead risk of a Whiteside).

Yea Horford is a great fit. Defends, passes, scores on pick n roll/pop, and can provide shooting.

The Hawks regressed this year,  but look at what they did just a year ago.

My only concern is the age, but as Mamba said he's a great locker room guy so I don't see him having a problem taking a back seat eventually and still being productive.

Bring Horford in, even at slightly above market (if it's not a max). You can pay a bit more for a vet leader for this team, who has to be better than everyone on the roster to fit that role. That shouldn't be too hard to do. Pau works here too.

I also like Conley in this role / the marquee get this summer.  You can run him with 2 6'5" guards in this system no problem. In rotation with Lou, the 1-2 (and some 3) minutes are set. Get a mobile defensive big (Ezeli, Biyombo, Manhinmi) and a bunch of wing defenders (Batum, Deng, Lee/Afflalo to a lesser extent). That's good enough for this upcoming season.

Conley? For what?

Abs enough about this bringing people here at a discount of any kind. It's insulting first off abdominal the moment you start doing that other players will notice. And there's no need, we have the cap space to bring these guys here, now is not the time to be cheap if they're great fits for what we have. You pay people at the very least wha market value is, and likely in our case more given our current situation for some guys.

I didn't say we have to bring him in at a discount. What I was saying is that vet leaders are the only guys we should overpay for (so no big $$ for DeRozen or Whiteside). Horford should be close to the top of our list, esp cause the C position is weak in 2017. Conley fits the role as well, and you would have excellent guard play in any unit. Only reason I'm not pushing for him more is cause 2017 is full of max worthy guards.

Conley fits about as well as Derozan though with this unit. Especially when you have a younger clone of him in D'Lo starting.
