HOOVER | University of Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus has beendeclared ineligible and is believed to be the only UA player whoattended a party in Miami hosted by a sports agent, a source close tothe situation told The Tuscaloosa News, but UA officials said Wednesdaythat the school has yet to take that step.

The NCAA will make the ultimate ruling on when, or if, Dareus willbe reinstated. It is standard procedure for a player to be declaredineligible immediately whenever a question of whether the playerviolated NCAA rules arises.
Southeastern Conference CommissionerMike Slive would not comment on the case, but indicated the league isassisting UA in its probe.

but its more realistic that within 24 hours of finding out he was involved the NCAA ruled him ineligible. The room stuff i'm sure is true because his mom died that day so he flew back to birmingham
