This Jets trade tells me they aren't after Baker Mayfield because he probably would've been available at #6. This clears the way for Mayfield to become a Miami Dolphin.

Typically I would probably agree.. but having 4 and with 2 and 3 pretty much guaranteed going QB so they could get the other guy they should considering at 1 at 4, in chubb.. I think they should do it

Plus having three 2s (2 of which or top 3 of that round) and 9 picks overall even after their moves

Unpopular take but it's the truth, so here we go. The Arizona Cardinals made the right call releasing "Honey Badger" after he refused to restructure his contract. He was scheduled to be on the books for a whopping $14.1M, only Eric Berry has a cap hit of over $12M at the safety position. There's the injury history with numerous ACL tears. Mathieu's best season was 2015, which feels far away. The market solidified that Arizona ultimately exercised good judgment. There's no doubt Tyrann Mathieu is a defensive playmaker, but I'm not willing to pay eight figures for what I saw the past two seasons in Arizona.

They tried that before and got burned by Wentz, the “value pick” with Manziel. They can’t dodge this any longer they are priced into doing their research and taking the best qb on the board.

I love it as a Jet fan. Needed to trade up and god forbid Bills got number 3 and get the qb who tears it up for 10-15 years while we draft Vlad Ducasses and Amaros with second rounders. Had to be done, cant sit on your ***. The real question is if we can develop a qb with this regime.....

I completely agree the Jets need to take a QB. But their situation is a little more scary because what if you hate Allen but he’s all that is left at 3? You don’t get much choice
