but please lets not get too excited here NT Laker fam. its just one win in the regular season.

exactly, all this win shows me is the same thing the celtics win in staples showed me.

both teams are championship calliber teams who are more then capable of winning in the other teams building if they meet in june.

again and ill say it for emphasis.

I WANT THE @%%!$!%!%!@# RUBBER MATCH IN JUNE       DO IT MITCH, DANNY, PHIL AND DOC.

They ain't gotta do nothing but wait. It's just a matter of time.

I hope.

it needs to happen   aside from 1 team getting the best of the other in the renewed rivalry part,  something else is at stake too,  if the celtics win they put some distance on the lakers in terms of title won  18 to 16,  if the lakers win their both tied at 17 and the one thing the celtics had on the lakers all these years,  more championships is no longer there.

Hit my post limit earlier, first time I've had that happen.

To everyone I was talking to earlier, I wasn't trying to make excuses. Boston played like $@@% in the second half and Kobe killed us.

Good win for you guys, I don't want the Lakers to make the championship but I kinda hope they do so we can settle this argument.

Good game and congrats to Ray.

someone was doing work tonight!!!

ray did good taking reggies spot. cleanest stroke out there. unfortunately he didnt get a good nights sleep the night before, supposedly, and i think that took its toll on him while also having to cover kobe.

good win. hope we get to see a series again, one of the best competitors the Lake show has out there.

What excuses. While he kinda went overboard kobe ISNT the player he once was, lets say a few seasons ago. Even the biggest kobe d riders can see that. The days of 10+ consecutive 35+ games, 81 points in a game, high/def defying dunks are pretty much behind him. Similiar to Jordan circa the second 3-peat era. He is without a doubt still top 5 player in the league still.
WTH are you saying ?

kobe doesn't have to do that to win. did you see the last two nba finals ?
eyes.gif
geesh go back to ISS

He didnt have to do it in the era when he was playing with shaq either so whats your point? I mean seriously if you think after a few bad injuries etc that kobe is as athletic etc at 31 going on 32 as he was lets say mid 20's 27 28 you must just watch espn/gametime highlights. Thats why he start working on transitioning his game, he is a smart player and took what Jordan did and start developing his game on more of a skill/finese game. Btw Kobe has even said this himself. Let me guess you ride him so much you know kobe better then kobe knows himself.
tired.gif

actually he did do that in shaq era
laugh.gif
you must have just started watching NBA. of course he is not as athletic wise. WHO WOULD BE ?  my point is he doesn't have to shoot 50 shots to the W. and he didn't work on skill/finesse  HE WORKED ON HIS JUMP SHOT. which is what jordan did. that's why jordan averaged 49% from the field his whole career. but you probably never saw jordan play, you just wear his shoes.

1st i mean realy who still wears jordans outside of young heads 20 something and under pups. Second I use to be a bulls season ticket holder so i think i seen quite a few MJ games, albeit you was playing with pokieman cards and watching power rangers but i digress. Yes he worked on his jumpshot but his over game has changed. And are you series. Kobe skillset has drramatically improved from his days of the shaq era. His decision making etc all has improved.

As far as did he play like that with shaq. I stated HE did play high energy def-defying with shaq. What i said is he didnt HAVE to. So basically you just said he had to play like he did then in order to win, and im saying kobe game of now coulda still help them win chips back then. Its just he didnt have the skillset and his game wasnt transformed into what it has evolved to now, so he relied moreso on his athletic talents rather then skills and finesse. As he got older and saw he wasnt the athletic specimen he once was he started to work on developing maturing his game.
umm i still wore jordans. because i'm not a trendy kid like you. I wear what i like not what is 'popping' in the streets.
season ticket holder ?! let me see some pix. if not YOU ARE DUCKTALES !
actually pokemon didn't come out yet. i was watching  power rangers and on sunday I would watch NBA on NBC !

laugh.gif
what is your point ? yes, he did have to play @ high energy. did you even see the 2001 nba finals ? when shaq fouled out and kobe threw the team on his back in OT ?

of course his game has progressed. if his game did not progress he would still be chucking up 50+ shots.
laugh.gif

So what is your point i mean you arent even making sense? Kobe game changed because he became older wiser and isnt in the physical shape to do the things he did of years past. You said because he doesnt have to, which is true. I say its that in a combination of he is older and cant do all the things he did then on a night in/out consistant basis. Also why would i have tickets from 15 or so years ago? And i suppose i would have to pictures and saved them on my digital camera, or my camera/picture phone? Oh i know i should have kept them just to post 2 decades later on a shoe website to prove i went to his games? Aint like i can reuse them dude. Their a one time use buddy, you cant return/exchange tickets for newer games.
he is in the physical shape. the thing is he is wiser so he doesn't have to burn out his body because he has an amazing team.
laugh.gif
i don't know about you but if i went to a game with jordan i would have at least the kept the stub.
laugh.gif
but let me guess you didn't think anybody, including you, that it would be worth anything ? or better yet, it would not be something you would like to keep a memento of ? %%*$
laugh.gif
DUCKTALES to you man. but it's cool you don't have to say this kind of stuff over a message board full of people who will never see your face.
wink.gif

I mean 1st Kobe isnt in the same shape at 31/32 as he was at like 23,24 etc. I can tell you are young. Anyone who is over 30 can tell you they arent physically the same in your 30's as you are in your 20's. As far as the tickets go ok he is Jordan ok and... I mean i know this is nike talk but i dont jock athletes like that. I enjoy the game. I respect his game and think he is the best player ive ever witness, but i dont idolize or worship the dude. I bet you one of those crazed dudes that be grouping and boping over celebrities and begging for autographs like a star crazed teeny pop lil girl. Why would i need a momento... um hello I was there!!!

I mean i dont get it but i do realize ppl worship, idolize ppl just cause they are famous. And they become obsessed with them their lives and every aspect and anything that associates with them, but i just aint one of them. If you are then kudos.

Drop the insults (Ryda421 & LDJ) and stay on the topic.

Hint: the topic has nothing to do with you or the other person.

Failure to do so will result in warnings/suspensions/bans.

Unfortunately, I was only able to watch the first half. It seems that my biggest complaints about the first half (Pau's soft play; Bynum not knowing where to be on D or when to run to the front of the rim for a bucket/off rebound) must have been corrected because I hear that the bigs were the reason the Lakers won (aside from Kobe's 20 second half points).

Perkins looked like a shell of his former self (except for the moving screens) and the Celtics were without Shaq and West (IMO, the guys that'll kill the Lakers the most if they're healthy). The Lakers should've won because they're good enough, smart enough, and doge gone it, people like them.

What I need to see more of from the Lakers:

- Pau needs to catch the ball and go to the running hook or take the step back jumper immediately after receiving the ball instead of waiting to see what else is going to happen in the offense because only Ron gets good post position & they rarely pass it to him there anyway. Pass only when the defense has to adjust to your play.

- Bynum needs to RUN to the front of the rim, seal, and put his hands up as soon as he sees the defense adjust (read: double teams) to Pau & Kobe. He usually stands behind the shorter, smaller player and watches the double team go to Kobe without getting open or in position for an offensive rebound. He needs to make the player guarding him work EVERYTIME down the floor. That's how you wear the opposition down.

- Bynum has to know what to do when his man is setting a screen at the BEGINNING of the game

- Odom needs to work on the 6-foot jumper when there's contact. Dude CANNOT hit that shot to save his life. He should also be automatic with those free-throw line jumpers. Good to see him being aggressive though. He seemed to have Glen Davis' number in the first half

I can't wait for Matt Barnes to come back.
