Man of Steel (Superman Movie Thread) - June 14, 2013 - NEW Trailer pg20

Bale is a forgettable Bruce Wayne?

DF? C'mon son, did you even watch Batman Begins? Dude killed it :{
Have you ever seen Bale in anything else? He could've done so much better if the movies were better written. Son got shafted imo.
I'm unsure how any top 5 excludes The Dark Knight.

I don't get that.
Especially if you got Begins in there

Can someone explain 2 things about man of steel?

1 If clark cant breathe in the SPACESHIP how the hell could he breathe in SPACE?

2 Since clark always turned the other cheek and never fought anybody how the hell could he hold his own against any of the kryptonians

Movie was cool and all maybe top 15-20 but I didnt really like what he did to Zod, couldv'e did him like he did doomsday in justice league

1. The ship was modified to be similar to Kryptons environment and that is why other Kryptons has no weakness in there. Kal/Clark isn't used to it or has adapted to this environment so he became weaker. It is also why Lois had to wear that breathing mask so she doesn't feel what Supes felt. It was a bit of a nod to a kryptonite I think.

2. Not sure what that means. Superman always tries to avoid fights but if something important is at stake, he is always there ready to throw some punches.

The breathing had to do with ON the ship if I remember correctly. Like it was pumping Kryptonian air or something to that effect.

The never fought was moreso him simply learning how to use his powers. The guy had "God like" abilities on Earth, doesn't take much to learn how to scrap when you can take a car in the face and be just fine. I think they showed more of it thru him struggling to fly at first, and then you just assume he'd figure the rest out. It shouldn't be like he had to train like a boxer his whole life to know how to fight for his life or anything.

That's just my take on it tho.

1. The ship was adapted to Krypton's environment which is harsher than earth's. Both Jor-El and Zod make mention of this.

2. If you notice Faora was giving dude that work in Smallville. If it wasn't for her helmet messing up and exposing her to Earth's atmosphere he would have still been getting bodied.

Damn, I was typin like a secretary to beat RFX and he still got the answers in before me. ****. :{ :lol

I get that the ship had different air but I dont buy that kryptonian air is harsher than no air, clark had a convo, flew and fought in space w/ no problems

It's not just the air, it is the whole environment. The ships enviroment mimics that of Krypton so the type of air, micro organisms, etc... are different and affect his body. Again, I think it is a nod to Kryptonite, a rock from Krypton that weakens Superman. Sp think of the air as something like a Kryptonite he is inhaling, which could be considered poison to him. He doesn't need to breath air to survive but if a poisonous contaminant were to get inside his body or just particle that his body has never encountered, then it could affect him. Chances are the particles/atoms like hydrogen and such in the space surrounding Earth is something he has already adapted and does not affect him negatively.

I don't get that.

I just didn't like the movie as much as the movies in my top 5. That's all.

As far as that series goes : Batman Begins, then the TDKR and then TDK. But I didn't like TDKR all that much either. I really liked Batman Begins but then I felt like they dropped the ball for the sequels. Maybe my expectations was too high or whatever for the rest of the series but the movies didn't meet it.

Yes. I know that a lot of you guys will disagree with me on this. That's just how I feel.

If it's any consolacion, this is also how I felt about the Iron Man trilogy and the Spiderman trilogy. I really liked Iron Man 1 and Spiderman 1 but then I felt the franchises got worse as it went on.

if you say so, they should have just introduced krytonite in the movie instead of dancing around it

Well the Kryptonite thing is a guess or a hunch, it isn't exact. Snyder said there is no Kryptonite in the film and we do not know if it is a homage or a foresight. It's a good way to keep it out of the film because if Kryptonite were present, it'll have to have a bigger role and there really isn't any time for that in the already long film.

I agree with you. In fact, I'm watching Batman Begins, and it's confirming my original thought that it's better than TDK and TDKR. Liam Neeson is an underrated villain/anti-hero. His acting is very good.

I also agree that IM1 is better than the rest, but I preferred SM2 because Doc Ock was a great villain and the fighting sequences were much better. Also, the story was :smokin

I think it's just really hard to do a sequel right, no matter what the movie franchise. Maybe part of the problem is it's easiest to impress me when I have no expectations of a movie.

Am I the only one who didn't think FF was that bad, I mean it wasn't good, but not as terrible as the first Hulk or Daredevil in my opinion

So.....TDKR better than TDK, but neither really impressed you, but, Liam Neeson great, Heath Ledger wassssss......????

Man, I dunno. :lol
But like you said, its how you feel about them, I can dig that.

Ya know, when he found the scout ship, I hadn't even put it together that was fortress of Solitude. Completely over my head. :lol

they said the ship was there for over 18,000 yrs... So Kara/Supergirl really that old? I'm confuse

Tryin to slot in my own mind where I'd stand.....

The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Iron Man
Man of Steel
The Dark Knight Rises
Avengers
Spiderman 2
X2
Superman II
X-Men First Class
Spiderman
Batman (1989)
X-Men
Superman (1978)
Daredevil
Amazing Spiderman
Thor
Captain America
Watchmen
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
Spiderman 3
Wolverine
X3

Man, I dunno. It gets tough there in the middle. And I'm not sure if I am firm on Iron Man over Man of Steel, need to re-watch MOS a couple times.

where are the blades, the punishers, and hellboys?

spiderman 3 and x3 would be nowhere on my list :x

man i loved the punisher. only movie i could stomach thomas jane in besides his cameo role in arrested development :lol they should have left the punisher making weeks commit suicide in the regular cut

and i know alot of people hate it but punisher warzone is my guilty pleasure. it was like a comic book on screen with the foul language, violence, humor, and gore...

700

Just finished watching this. I don't know if I was really tired or what, but this movie dragged and I found myself constantly looking at the time hoping for the film to end.

I know I'm in the minority here but I actually enjoyed IM3 way more than I enjoyed MoS
