Marvel might be cancelling Iron FIst Series for Punisher

MARVEL CONSIDERING REPLACING IRON FIST WITH PUNISHER SERIES

Our source (who first gave us a heads up about Marvel planning a Moon Knight series) has informed us that Marvel is considering replacing the Iron Fist series that was initially planned with a Punisher series. When I asked for some elaboration, this is what I received:

Marvel can’t quite seem to figure out how to put Iron Fist into the equation and time is running out. They’re very pleased with Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle for Season 2 of Daredevil and know that the fans have a great appreciation for the character. They also know that a Punisher series would be much cheaper and more marketable. They have a contract with Netflix and have to do something. It appears that for this phase of shows, time is running thin for Iron Fist.

Daredevil Will Reportedly Have a Part to Play in JESSICA JONES

It looks like Luke Cage isn't the only main character from the four Netflix Marvel series in development that will show up in Jessica Jones. This news may be kind of obvious because we know that all four of the Netflix series Marvel is developing will be connected and set in Hell's Kitchen. But, until now, we didn't know who else might be involved.

According to Jon Schnepp of Collider Heroes, Daredevil will definitely be making an appearance in Jessica Jones. We knew one day they would eventually meet, but I wasn't sure if they would do it so soon, though. Schnepp says:

"You're definitely gonna see Matt Murdock in Jessica Jones. That's a fact. He's in it. I don't know how they interact, but he's in the series."

It's great to know that we'll get to see The Man Without Fear again before Daredevil Season 2 comes around next year. I'm curious to know what his role in the story will be, how big that role will be, and if he'll actually show up in costume. It would be pretty cool if we got to see him fight alongside Jones.

Make sure to catch up on all the previously released Jessica Jones news, trailers, and posters here. The series premieres on November 20th. Do you have any idea of how Daredevil will play into the story?

They already started setting up Iron Fist with DD season 1.

Would be stupid to scrap it.

Not many recognized the easter egg for IF in DD, plus they can spin it so that DD deals with it anyways.

Now don't get me wrong, I WANT Iron Fist to happen but his presence wasn't big enough for it to be a problem if they refuse to make his series. They can even just keep putting teasers for him in case they do decide to add IF after the Defensers series.

Yeah they can easily back down. Especially since Elektra and Stick are both confirmed for season 2.

IDK anything about IF. Not sure why I should even care. Same with Luke Cage.

Honestly, I think it might turn out like RVD said and that they'll just stick IF into the Defenders without giving him his own show. And the season slot where they woud've aired IF will just go to Punisher.

Another Iron Fist rumor from the same guys before:

Marvel will be turning Iron Fist into a Netflix exclusive feature film. This will give Marvel extra time and a larger budget for this project. The Punisher will replace Iron Fist as one of the four Defenders.

IN TERMS OF NETFLIX AND MARVEL .. I WISH THE EPISODES OF XMEN AND SPIDERMAN WOULD REVAMP… I LOVE THOSE CARTOONS MAN

netflix is on fire. beasts of no nation, new marvel, plus i still gotta watch s2+3 of house of cards and Virunga, and the Square. :hat :hat

After actually thinking about it that Peel The Orange rumor is even stupider than I originally thought.

Daredevil as a whole cost around 43 million to produce 13 episodes. I don't see how changing a Tv show into a 2 hour film would result in more money for the budget, it would of made sense if they said Marvel was doing this in an effort to cut cost.

And they way they word the story is pretty poor. It comes off like IF getting a film would somehow stop him from being a Defender when iirc he's the person who funds the entire operation (I think it's Heroes for Hire in the comic correct me if I'm wrong)

What I'm guessing from it is that they'll keep the budget the same for the 2 hour movie. So instead of spreading it out among 13 episodes they'll be able to splurge it all for one movie.

So in a sense that's more money for your budget.

Doesn't make sense considering Netflix's business model

They pay Marvel to produce a certain amount of content. Although a lot of people binge they're banking on people who watch the shows at their own pace due to subscription money, since that's really the only way they turn profit. I doubt they would give Marvel the same amount for a substantially smaller amount of content, especially an unknown quality like IF.

but idk i'm gonna read up on the specifics of the deal more after the games are over because it's becoming pretty interesting to me how all this works

Business model must be just like HBO. They pay for a show based on the amount of new subscribers it brings in/subscribers it keeps on lock. So if GoT can bring in 2M new subscribers then they know $15 x 2 million viewers is $30M a month in subscriptions. Then they base the budget off that.
