I completely doubt those IF rumors, especially the 2 hr movie but I wouldn't mind a 2 hr movie to get the origin out of the way in addition to an IF series.

Hulu got all that homie. The 90s X-Men and Spider-Man too. Get a trial.

I DONT NEED A TRIAL.. I NEED NEW EPISODES.. I HAVE HULU, NETFLIX, INTERNET, CABLE.. IVE WATCHED ALL THE EPISODES ALREADY HOMIE
:lol You're not getting new eps of the 90s Spidey and X-Men. They already went up and started different cartoons since then.

You'll have to make up your own ending for if Spidey ever found MJ and w/e random plot the X-Men cartoon left unresolved.

Plus as far as I know the only show that had multiple seasons before and then netflix commissioned more was Arrested Development. Doubt they're gonna round up a bunch of voice actors and animators for these cartoons.

Doesn't make sense considering Netflix's business model

They pay Marvel to produce a certain amount of content. Although a lot of people binge they're banking on people who watch the shows at their own pace due to subscription money, since that's really the only way they turn profit. I doubt they would give Marvel the same amount for a substantially smaller amount of content, especially an unknown quality like IF.

but idk i'm gonna read up on the specifics of the deal more after the games are over because it's becoming pretty interesting to me how all this works :lol

If Netflix loses money whenever people binge, then why do they release everything at once 8o

Just curious.

I want to know too.

Netflix entire business model is based on subscriptions.

Binging only becomes a problem if a lot people binge then cancel their subs, and I haven't seen that is the case. If bingers lets their subs run as usual, then I would think it makes no difference to Netflix.

That's seems to me like why Netflix wants to provide a constant stream of content. So even everyone, including bingers, always got something to look forward too

You gotta be on some serious broke boy steez to cancel your sub for weeks at a time to save a couple dollars :lol

You would need to be crazy cheap to cancel your sub after binge watching on your favorite shows

I didn't eem think about that.

Netflix does not lose money from binge watchers. In fact one of the metrics for wether or not a show gets another season is how fast people finish the show :lol Thats why DD Season 2 was announced something like a week after the S1 release date

So Netflix wants you to binge now? I iz confused lol

Also, how does regular TV make money these days. Feel like half people watches on DVR and skips the commercial 8o

How does fb and instagram make money

I so full of questions today

Finishing the show quickly shows enthusiasm for the show. Shows them that you will definitely watch a season 2 and keep you subscription. Yes they want you to binge watch as long as you dont cancel right after, which doesnt seem to be a problem.

Turn off adblock and you'll see exactly how fb gets money. Its the only place that has all your EXACT interest, hobbies, exact age, race, location, search engine searches, etc in one place. Tell fb you want to advertise to 14 year old girls and your ad will pop up on all profiles that "like" Justin Bieber. Say you want to market to people who live in London.... well what a coincidence, "Lives in" takes care of that.

I don't think they care if you binge or not, they just want you to keep the subscription, makes no difference to them really.

Binging watching is just a metric they use to measure demand/popularity

Just like regular TV networks looks at the TV ratings of the first couple weeks of a show before green lighting another season

Iron Fist as a white guy appropriating Asian culture feels like something that won't fly in 2015.

If I was Marvel I wouldn't want to get put on taht summer jam screen.

Honestly never knew dude was white. Some reason I always assumed he was Asian.

Probably the one character whose race you can change and no one would eem bat an eye.

Make Danny Asian. Boom. Problem solved.

Also introduce Shang-Chi

Seems like an easy fix.

But clearly marvel is struggling with it.

Plus there's the whole inherit weirdness of plunging your fist into the molten heart of a giant dragon. I don't know how they make that fit within the tone they've established.

Yeah I assumed he was asain when I was a kid. They really should just make him asain, or half asain.

The reason netflix doesn't lost money for binge watchers is cuz after they cancel their subscriptions they re-up a new one the next season for the show they want to watch releases.

There's millions of ppl who subscribe specifically for say House of Cards. While some may bleed over and keep the subscription going for other original shows like Orange is the New Black many don't. They binge HoC, cancel, and re-up when the next season starts. Netflix keeps track and are very aware of the increase in subscriptions when certain shows new seasons are about to drop.

For instance, I bet there were a whole lot for Arrested Development and a drop after they were done binging.

We've had a giant space snake attack Earth in the MCU.

yeah but im talking about he mcu netflix tone. They talked about how they want those shows to be grounded/street level. Giant dragon is not very street level. unless they just ignore how he got the fist you got a lot of weird **** to deal with.

I understand why they are struggling.

I hope they stick with it and their is no Punisher series.

I don't think the year matters or that ppl are more reactionary to this stuff.

There are still stories involving Asians being adapted for movies ending up with all white casts.

There are Asian Americans that might feel some type of way but I'm not sure the Asian market minds. Seems to me a lot of them prefer white stars if they're not getting their own. From Keanu pretending to be a samurai to Tom Cruise pretending to be one.

I don't think these rumored problems have even made it about Danny being white yet.

Well we're about to have a guy who can control people using his voice and pheromones in the Netflix shows.

And all this talk of struggling is rumors. Based on what exactly? No news? We still are two shows out from IF.

Appropriation is def more prominent in cultural discourse.

The Alhoa movie got kilt for having Emma Ston play asain so did Oliver Stone's Exodus Gods and Kinds.

10 years ago nobody would have bat and eyelash at those.

I just think their would be a sizble negative reaction to a story that is at it's very essence about appropriating asain culture.

Obviously If it was an amazing show they could over come it but it strikes me that it's simpler just to make Iron fist asain or half asain.

Cmon man there is a big difference between that and tussling with a giant dragon. :lol

nto to mention travailing to an interdenominational mystical city that only appears on the planet every 10 years to then fight the gaint dragon.

From the video I watched it seemed more like the secret city he is from is white not asian

Its Dr. Strange that Im more worried about

Plus they're pretty much gonna ignore JJ's superpowers to keep her grounded and street level.

If they did an IF movie then a series I think they could better separate the two.

The movie can have the magic dragon and city of immortal ppl. Then when you get back to NYC, Danny can just be the billionaire martial artists that fights ninjas and other Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat looking enemies.

I think the problem they're having is wanting to do the first season of IF the same way they did DD. Make like half of it about his origin and motive for doing what he does. Then adding in his main foe to wrap things up. They'd be better suited to just establish in NYC and make his enemies that slightly above street level status they've always been.

You can't make IF completely street level and grounded. That only works when it's Power Man & Iron Fist and it's more Danny in Luke's world.

Going off his origin that's not how it is. He ends up being raised there and trained to be the next IF. So the city showing up every 10 years doesn't matter until when he leaves. As for defeating the dragon, just show dude entering a cave, some fire, and a hr later he's the IF. Not a big hurdle.

As for the city, everything I've seen of it makes it look like some 12th century Asian city. Look like a big *** market place that sells fish. Something out of that Kung-fu Panda movie :lol That aint hard to pull off. Aint much mystical about the city itself other than they're all immortal.

The most they have to do is cgi on entering the portal to the city and the dragon. Everything else is should be easy.
