Just finished season 1. It was terrific. Excited for season 2....and my wait is minimal lol

So is this outrage of Iron Fist from the Asian community? 8o

I've seen some asain writers write about it.

But even if there wasn't I gotta be consistent,

I can't imagine what I would say if marvel was making a show about the son of a rich white capitalist going to africa, finding some mystikal hidden zulu city, finding some shaka zulu type figure

fights a dragon and comes back to new york dressed in some weird traditional zulu warrior costume.

:lol

I think the backlash would be even worse if he was black coming back dancing around in a zulu warrior costume. Sometimes you just gotta say **** it and go for it.

But really though, I see no reason he couldn't be a rich, privileged asian kid, ain't eem mad either way.

Charlie Cox has a British accent?!? :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek
Another guy who didn't watch Boardwalk Empire :{

TIMEOUT

Murdock is Owen :eek. Holy ****, I knew he looked familiar but never realized. I'm finishing S1 of DD in an hour and your post has my mind warped. Talking about completely blown. Damn.

lamekilla lamekilla definitely give Boardwalk a try, one of my favorite series'. Ended too soon IMO, Zik do you agree?

^I understand it had to end I just didn't love the ending.

Definitely could've went on a few more seasons following Lucky and Meyer with a Nucky in "retirement".

Never watched a single episode of Boardwalk Empire. Is it worth rediscovering this late in the game or was it one of those water cooler shows?
It'd be a great show to binge watch now that it's done.

Go for it :smokin

Fell asleep in the middle of ep. 13 last night, I can't hang like I used that late at night :lol Starting it over now before work.

Agreed. There was another decades worth of show they could have went off of. But I guess Terry Winter had other plans - Vinyl. And I'm not too sure how that's panning out.

All finished. I was straight hooked to my t.v episodes 7-13. And even the episodes prior, I really enjoyed it.

Great cast and great action; nothing felt forced or corny. Was torn at times whether I wanted Fisk caught, or for him to slip away yet again :lol . Netflix has a gem here, can't wait to binge S2 this weekend.

Finn Jones to Star in the Netflix Original Series 'Marvel's Iron Fist'

The 'Game of Thrones' veteran to become Danny Rand in the new 13-episode series for Netflix!

Marvel and Netflix are pleased to announce that Finn Jones (“Game of Thrones”) will star in “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” the newest series coming soon only to Netflix.

Jones will play Daniel Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

“Danny Rand is a very complicated character. He’s a billionaire New York Buddhist monk martial arts superhero who’s still trying to figure out what exactly that all means,” said Executive Producer and showrunner, Scott Buck. “Finn is able to play all these levels in such an honest, revelatory way that as soon as I saw him I knew he was our Danny.”

“Finn wonderfully blends confidence with vulnerability, making him the perfect choice as he struggles to find his place in the world,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb. “Now that we’ve found our Danny Rand, we’ve completed our principal cast for the upcoming Defenders on Netflix and we are thrilled to continue to show audiences unexplored corners of the Marvel Universe.”

Finn will next be seen in the upcoming season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” where he reprises his role of Ser Loras Tyrell. He is also known for his work on the British series “Hollyoaks” and “Hollyoaks Later.”

"Marvel's Iron Fist" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

He actually had another show in the works at HBO but it didn't work out, then he moved on to Vinyl which apparently doesn't care about ratings only if it's critically acclaimed.

The whole thing is about HBO playing nice with Winter like they do with other creators so that they keep getting future great shows.

A few more hours, comes out tonight at midnight, no?
Midnight for yall west coasters. 3am for us east coasters.

Hmm... Kinda ****** up but I get it.

Not sure that's true across the board though 8o

i read an article by Jay Kaspian Kang about that Asian cop that convicted in the nytimes that gets into this.

if i rememeber He kind of intimates that many asians, think that if they stay quiet and keep their heads down they might also get to be white.

it seems crazy as a black person, but the irish and italians got accepted into white privlage so maybe asians think they are next in line. :lol

nope

i'm ok with the white dude.

casting an asian guy to play a kungfu super hero would be kinda lame anyway
